When Bruce Springsteen came out with the deluxe edition of "The River" he did a little piece for HBO, pretty informal, he sat with his acoustic guitar and played parts of songs from those sessions and told stories about the inspirations for songs and things. I thought, well, I can write something with the river as a kind of metaphoric centerpiece and did so very quickly and couldn't figure out why I wasn't happy with it, not that I thought it would compare to Bruce's good work. I set it aside for a good while and then turned to one of our strong prolific regular writers here. The answer? missing furniture! There's nothing wrong with a feelings song but I love furniture, love creating scenery and images, oh well the chorus has an image an even if you don't like the song, dig this style Folk Rock with Piano, it's awesome! I'm usuing Logic Pro for all my vocals now and love how clean it sounds and how easy it is to use. Thanks for listening and commenting, great group of people here.

Really, really, really NICE Kenny!! All your songs are just so hypnotic and easy to listen to. Some great lyrics here, and you sing it so well. And, you're right about "the band"-very inspiring combination of instruments. I'm going to have to play with that one! You are a hell of a writer!! Take care. Greg

Kenny,

Like Greg, I am a real fan of your writing. I'm also a fan of your sound. You always seem to put together just the right "band" to get a song across and make it special... just as you have done here. There is the "Boss element", but it is still your own.

I like this more every time I hear it.

This is great Kenny, sort of Bruce-influenced, but very uniquely you as your own artist. It has a "voice" to it.

Congratulations. Great job.

Thanks Guenter, I'm usuing a plate reverb on harmonies and got kind of a natural big room spread sound, I'll definitely use it again.

Thanks so much for the very kind words, I think the early Bruce influence is important to both of us, you reflect it very well in your writing. Thanks for the encouragement.

"From a deafening silence
To an unspoken scream
Feel the anger building
And I know what it means"

"unspoken scream" Wow...this is a fine write and the vocals
support it so well. The feel is, as Greg said, hypnotic.

And then there's the production with it's great soundstage.
The piano and drums are just outstanding on my monitors.

We most enjoyed it. Nice one for the SC playlist!

Hi Kenny,

This is a great write, from lyrics to composition; the way that piano slurs and rolls throughout the song. I loved it. Black Velvet

I'm late to the party and everything that I wanted to say has been said.

Everything about this is pro all the way. That plate reverb on the harmonies is perfect. Your instrumentation is perfect also.

Two thumbs up.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Very solid write. I like the contrast in the legato chorus and more staccato verses.

much enjoyed!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
