Bail Skipper (video by Pat Marr) A.Hugh Jiddyut

Thanks Pat, it's great to see the Jiddyuts in Action!

Not many people know, I once was a desperate criminal on the run
……. yeah I was arrested and sent to jail ……for Jaywalking……….
drunk……… and nekid in front of the police station….
in rush hour, pulling a wagon with a keg of Jack Black in the back,
by a pony dressed like Madonna. True Story

Got no good reason, don't know just how I got in here
Ain't drunk still in season, if so just give me another beer
I ain't no bail skipper, so call me a bondsman dear
It took me sooo long, to get this drunk
I'm real drunk

Drunk ain't no reason, the judge won't a lower my bail
I said that's treason, a puttin me under the jail
I ain't no bail skipper, so call me a bondsman dear
It took me sooo long, to get this drunk
I'm real drunk

Take care of my pony, watch out for that keg of Jack Black
Pay alimony, if it's still there when I can get back
I ain't no bail skipper, so call me a bondsman dear
It took me sooo long, to get this drunk
now I'm real drunk

Dang I never get that banjo ending right!

Hey Tommy,

From the first time I heard one of the songs done in your "Hugh Jiddyut " persona, I knew we needed to take the vivid mental images you created and make them real!

A pony dressed like Madonna?? REALLY??? well.. yeah... ;-) What kind of person thinks this stuff up?? LOL! The good news is you have an outlet, and you don't have to keep ideas like that bottled up!

Anyway, this song was full of opportunities to illustrate the lyrics, and it was a totally fun exercise listening to your song and trying to figure out how to represent it in visual form.

I thank you for giving me an opportunity to work with you on this... I think the end result is a good indication of what happens when two people who spend wayy too much time inside their brains step outside for long enough to collaborate!

There are places in the song where it sounds like the audience is singing along (as opposed to using public domain laugh tracks)... did you have others help to record the crowd noises? We want to hear all the interesting details...

Standing O!, for both of ya...

Tommy - clever write and excellent recording and mix (easy to miss those facts when done this well).

Pat - you have out-done yourself! Your attention to detail is a delight.
The crowd grooving on the music...
The "drunk walk" in front of the station...
"drunk weaving" at the table...
the camera movements and pans...
the clock movement...
the ending banjo notes are timed perfectly with the video (vice versa, really)...

The ending is classic! Laugh Out Loud funny!!!

Home Run, y'all!

glad to hear you say that, Floyd! I think Tommy's songs are awesome, but the view counter doesn't indicate that he's getting the attention these songs deserve

I really appreciate the fact that you notice details like that... any detail in an animation was put there on purpose, and sometimes the details only appear in passing as the camera moves thru a scene. All the characters grooving to the music took a lot of time, but its so peripheral its easy to miss.

I guess its true that if its seamless enough that most people don't notice, that means I did my job!.

One of the problems with music videos is that the lyrics tend to repeat, and there is a tendency to reuse the same animation for each chorus. (boring)... One advantage of 3D animation is that the same scene can be used, but viewed from a new camera angle, which makes it seem new.

Thanks again for posting your valuable observations... you have a keen eye to go along with your keen ear!

Thanks Floyd, Pat's attention to detail is Incredible! It took him a month, from the time we decided on the song. We started talking about it in April, and on May 3rd the song was ready. My attention span is about 20 minutes, on a good day. Anytime he wants a song from now on, I'm Ready! Thanks again Pat, You Da Man! cool

You did a marvellous job! crazy
We have to say we looooove the video, specially the ending (your idea Pat?).
If possible, your Muvizu skills are still improving laugh
Tommy.. the live effects (applause) are very well timed and sound very realistic.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
