Don't be put off by all that on the other page, you do a great job with the GIFT of sooooo many user tracks. I looked thru IK terms and could not see anything about samples it was all about the software it's self not what you use it for. What J.Ford said it's like using the sample sound from any midi keyboard you have purchased.

Should I not use Amplitube on my midi or wav files and upload as a user track ?

If you buy some tubes of paint and paint a picture and give it away the receiver can't take the paint off and put it back in the different tubes to make new paintings of his own - if he wants to make a new different painting he will have to buy some tubes - you are not giving away the tubes just the painting.

And you are gonna quit making UserTracks because of that? Or, were you thinking there might be some validity to my concerns?

I was actually hoping PG would step in and provide us with some sort of assurance that they had checked this out and that it was OK to do.

I apologize if I offended you; that certainly was not my intent!! You really shouldn't quit based on my comments! laugh

Frank,

You've done a great job over the years! There is no-one on these forums who is more experienced than you when it comes to the creation of User Tracks. There's also no-one else of these forums who has been so very generous with what they've done. You've been amazing.

I wasn't aware of its existence before but I've just read through the page of 'turmoil' you're referring to and I can only imagine how your feeling given all the work you've done and the creations you've made freely available to so many. You're going to be missed by a lot of people.

Best wishes,
Noel

Frank

I certainly hope you don't stop making User Tracks. Your selflessness in this area has been extraordinary.

Please don't let other comments dissuade you. If there has not been any issue previously, why might there be an issue now?

Regards

Trevor

Frank,

Thanks a lot for all your efforts and I have quite a few of your user tracks in my biab.

So sad that you feel the need to stop doing it, you only wanted to help everyone, and then someone whether intentional or not has managed to scare the S""t out of you for your efforts.

Some nice people on this forum eh?

As I have said on the other page If anyone is worried:
"Okay in that case just upload the midi file user track and I will use them in any of the vsti's I own - that way I can add key switches anywhere I like to get the sound I like - same with user track drums I can change the kit and re-mix it.
So you would only need to save your midi user track to an mgu then I just render your midi file to a wav/wma along with the mgu/sgu in the user track folder."

This way you can also transpose the midi first to what you want then use it on any vsti you like as there are so many free ones.

Here's just one
http://www.dskmusic.com/ 100% Royalty Free for any use.

If you have Kontakt there's plenty of free instruments for that also.

Hi seeker, although I have not downloaded all of your usertracks, cause some of them are not what I'm looking for, I use many of them. Please keep up your good work, would you? Thanks a lot anyway.

if you are put off by negative comments in the forum you can just create a listing on your site http://www.mp3cloud.mobi/usertracks.html or http://www.mp3cloud.mobi/usertracks/index.html

you have all your tracks in the root folder http://www.mp3cloud.mobi
if you remove the index.html temporally (index.html.org) this will give you a list of all your tracks you have uploaded when the page in viewed that you can copy and paste the html links list to the new user track html page you create and simply add to that as you go.
This way all the users that enjoy and use your tracks can just go straight to your new page thus avoiding any comments that can put you off creating new user tracks.

Hope this helps - looking forward to the new page smile

I think legitimate questions were asked. There is nothing wrong with asking the questions. Personally, unless I'm looking at the wrong thread, I didn't see anything offensive asked or the even the way it was asked.

I would just keep making them. If the powers that be step in at some point, then you have your answer. If they never do, then you have your answer. smile

To me, stopping because a question was asked makes it look like you maybe have your doubts. If you do, then by all means stop. If you don't, then why would you stop?

Thanks for all of your work either way!

Just to close this thread on a positive, knowledge dispels fear.
This was asked to IK:
I would like to use SampleTank to save my midi files to wav loops that others can use.

"If you are using the loops for performance or creation of songs, that is certainly ok...
If you are not looking to sell or create them as a library to eventually sell, you are ok to use the loops for music making."

Really like the combination of the historic vintage pictures with your “old style Jazz”. While this is not my favorite kind of music to listen to, I’ve played piano in a few Dixie Land Bands on and off for some time that help me earn some extra pocket change. Also, much of the time, I found it fun playing with some great players. So when I say admire how you tastefully you put this together, I say so from experience. Thanks for sharing “Enough Said”

PS You made this real Track? Wow Even more impressed!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
