Does anyone know how to set up BiaB Server as a Windows 10 "Service" that runs continuously, so that the BiaB desktop program/server can still be access remotely via the iPhone BiaB app after the User logs-off of Windows? Currently, when I log onto my user account in Windows, the BiaB Server starts up automatically and I can access and use the BiaB iPhone app with no issues, and connect to my BiaB desktop App, regen songs on my iPhone, etc. Its awesome! However, when I log off the desktop to let others use the computer or leave, the BiaB Server stops and I can no longer access the BiaB app or regen songs on my iPhone.
There must be solution to this, as the BiaB Server also has provisions to be set up access to the BiaB desktop App via the Internet using my iPhone via remote IP. But, once your logoff the computer, the server and service are gone.
Any suggestions, recommendations, or step-by-step instructions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Welcome to the forum. I don't recall seeing this question before. We are only fellow users; I think this question might require someone from PG Music Support. The Support tab above will get you to them. Don't forget to post the answer here if you find it.
BIAB 2024 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 6.5 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6; Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus Studio 192, Presonus Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors
You may be able to have it launch at start up, but I don't see an easy way to make it run as an actual Service.. although that would be a pretty cool new feature.
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
Maybe PG could have a track production server for those without biab or those thinking of purchasing it. You could just key in your chords, tempo, style and instruments on a webpage - generate it up and playback (with a watermark) - then paypal and download the tracks. It would be a great way to promote it as those happy with the results might look at eventually purchasing biab. You could have a real band style interface so you can see the tracks and regenerate any sections you are not happy with.
Pipeline, that's a great idea. This suggestion reminds me of a similar paid service I use (http://www.karaoke-version.com), where you can find a good assortment of well known songs performed by decent studio musicians. You can download the songs with individual MP3 tracks. I use them to practice cover songs I want to learn. I am not affiliated with them, but just a happy customer.
Yes that is from KV, there are others I use for multitracks also https://www.jamkazam.com/ and http://www.songgalaxy.com/multi.php Yes PG would do well to have a server, there are a lot of studios that might just need a track or 2 to complete that job rather than getting a musician in.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
