Latest song from Chris and me, back to the blues for this one.

Drums, bass, and organ are realtracks. Guitar is me, lyrics/vocals from Chris

Up on reverbnation: https://www.reverbnation.com/blueattitudemusic/song/26407438-deep-down-in-me-featuring-chris

also soundcloud, although the sound quality is not as good: https://soundcloud.com/blue-attitude/deep-down-in-me-featuring-chris-spruit

EDIT: Just added a video for the song, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-pXOWucdaSU

Deep Down in Me (lyrics by Chris Spruit)

Verse 1
where is all the joy gone
where's all the trust
where has all my hope gone
turning to dust
I am trying to find out
trying to find another way
out of
misery
oh lord I am not willing
oh lord it is killing
something deep down in me

Verse2
where is all my faith gone
where's all the luck
where has all the tears fall
falling into dust
I am trying to find out
trying to find another way
out of
agony
oh lord I am not willing
oh lord it is killing
something deep down in me

Middle 8
Times to come, we'll have choose
eye for eye, hell is breaking loose
what love denies
we look straight into devils eyes
and he‘s got no good news for you

Solo

Verse3
Where is all love gone
Where all the pain
has all the blood left
yet another stain
and we are trying to bail out
trying to buy another way out
tragedy
oh lord we are not willing
oh lord it is killing
something deep down in me

Wow. There's a lot of attitude in your blues Mr. BlueAttitude.

Great arrangement, mix and production. The vocals are great and sit right in the mix. Superb guitar work.

This is so good on every level. I like it.

Dave/Chris,

Excellent blues. Very enjoyable listen. I listened to both RN and SC. Any difference did not detract from the listening experience at all. There is a difference - RN is crisper - but for the majority of listeners and the way we listen these days - earbuds and computer speakers - I imagine most listeners would hear them about the same.

The instrument mix is excellent. Not always easy to get that organ to stand out - nice job on that.

Your guitar work was really nice.

Nice vocals. (I thought they could come up a tad - maybe 1 dB - there were times that I did not catch the words if I wasn't reading the lyric)

Thanks, Floyd smile

I'll do a remix on this at some point, I'll bring the vocals up a touch then.

This is really good!
I especially liked the hard hitting lyrics in the Middle 8

Times to come, we'll have choose
eye for eye, hell is breaking loose
what love denies
we look straight into devils eyes
and he‘s got no good news for you

... and that extra vocal emphasis on "eyes" & "denies" is just right.
Thanks for the link to your other site as the sound is better there.

You really nailed this one! I thought the ending was a little abrupt for the great groove you have going and the vocal could've come up slightly. Minor nits. Everything about this is really excellent.

Dave/Chris,

Has a bit of a Gary Moore feel. Very nice guitar solo. Really good.

Thanks Robert smile Yes, we weren't originally going to do a middle-8 but I'm glad we did!

Thanks Josie, I appreciate your kind words!

Peter, I could only wish to play as good as Gary Moore could! He was awesome. I did a tribute to him after he passed, an instrumental called Still got the Midnight blues.

Thanks, Alyn! Yes, I will remix it soon and bring the vocals up a little, I've been getting lots of comments about that. Just had a listen to your latest over on soundcloud and left a review there, fun song!
