Recently created song: Bridgeton... Is about growing up in the 1960's, in my small hometown of Bridgeton, NJ...Before the drugs came to town.

Really cool song Dave!! The music is really interesting and catchy. Vocal is very passionate, if a bit pitchy at times. I don't think I've heard anything from you before. Looking forward to more! Really enjoyed this!! Take care. Greg

Cool song!! Liked it a lot!

Hey you may want to put the link to the song and not the channel so people go directly to the song.

That will get more listens I think.

smile

Great job.

Yep... link it.

Agree on the pitchy vox..... easy fix with Melodyne.

Bridgeton NJ huh? there's a few others here with roots in NJ. I was born in Maple Shade and lived in Burlington & Lindenwold growing up. Haven't been there in years and don't intend to go back willingly. NC is home now.

I had Bridgeton confused in my mind with Bridgeboro... which was closer to where I lived.

Be sure to post more music.

You put your heart into that, Dave. A lot of fire in that vocal. Good melody.

Was the piano part of a BIAB MIDI style? If so, I've like to know which one...

What's up GH?

Long time no hear! I will rework my vocals. I really appreciate the input from you guys. I guess I got a little emotional while singing this song. Regarding Bridgeton, NJ, I left in 1982 and never looked back. In the late 1960's the drug gangs from NYC moved into this area and took it over. The town was turned into a cesspool.

If I die, and someone attempts to carry my body across the NJ state line, I will resurrect myself and walk back until I'm clear of the state!!!=D

Thanks again!

How U Mr. Jane?

Sorry for the pitch issue but I got a little emotional while recording. I'll fix this issue shortly. I'm glad you liked the song, I was experimenting with new chord combos to be a little different. The piano is a BIAB MIDI style (Bright Piano).

I like this style because it seems to do exactly what I want.

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to listen.

Very good song, Dave.
I like the emotion that comes across in the vocal- I hope you can retain that feeling when you go back to the mix.
Would be nice to see the lyrics.
Looking forward to more.

It's all been said, i.e. clean up the vocals and you will have a winner.

I can relate to the lyrics. I came from a small town that now is loaded with drugs and drug dealers.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Thank you Mr. Mario;

I'm in the process of cleaning up the vocal now, it will take a few days as you well know. I'm glad you can feel my pain of losing my true love, my childhood home.

Unfortunately it's very true that you can never go home again...

“BRIDGETON”
By: David J. Brooks 06/11/2016

Nothing like the smell of fresh cut grass – floating on a Summer’s breeze –

Nothing like the kiss of a Jersey Girl, trying so damn hard to please…

So, I guess you’d call them the “Good Old Days” – Growing up

without a care – now we can’t stay out to “Street-Light-Time” –

everyone’s so full of fear…

(2x) I remember those days – at my old high school, when we, were young, and strong –

I remember my friends, in a faded play – some are lost, but so many are gone –

Chorus:

Bridgeton: (4 beat) Your child, has come home…

Bridgeton: (4 beat) My fate, was my own…

Walking through the woods on tracks of old – watching as my days rolled by–

Thinking of a girl, who I never knew, coming home from Junior High –

Where, all the seasons, described my home – Winter, Summer,

Spring, and Fall –

But none, could compare - to my all time best – In truth I

think I loved them all… (2x)

Chorus:

Bridgeton: (4 beat) Your child has come home…

Bridgeton: (4 beat) My fate was my own…

(3x) Bridgeton: (4 beat) I long for your charms…

My Dear Sweet Bridgeton: (4 beat) One day I’ll sleep in your arms…

Sweet Cohansey: (4 beat)

Cumberland…

Sweet Cohansey: (4 beat)

Cumberland…fin.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
