floyd posted Stoplight on North Main Street and I wrote "The American way of talking really lends itself to songs because in my town the title would be "There's a traffic light on Prince of Wales drive" which sounds ludicrous as a song title. laugh and floyd replied "I'm pretty sure a gibsonated "There's a traffic light on Prince of Wales drive" is a masterpiece just waiting to happen."

Thanks floyd for the idea! It was a really quick song from start to finish, about 4 hours!! I had a cold so the voice is a bit croaky. dunno about masterpiece tho; blush The photo for the song is the traffic lights in question grin

Here is The Traffic lights on Prince of Wales Drive

she made it so damned hard to love her
she made just real certain I knew just how she felt
she screamed just one more time so I ran across the road
at the traffic lights on Prince of Wales Drive

well i decided it was time for me to have a drink or two
and my favourite bar was only up the road thankfully
the boys said how you bin, she let you out again
I told them about the incident on prince of wales drive

Boy how they laughed
they laughed until they cried
and very soon even I had joined in
the beer began to flow then we all said that we'd go
to the traffic lights on Prince of Wales Drive

Boy how we laughed
we laughed until we cried
and the someone noticed that it had just started to rain
the beer was really flowing so we decided not to go go
to the traffic lights on Prince of Wales Drive

Hi Alyn,

This is funny and you did a pretty good job for a 4 hour write!
I feel your pain singing with a cold - I seem to go from one cough/cold/throat infection to the next.
I thought I might do a song with vocoder vocals to mask my cold.

Cheers

Alyn,

Well this surely is a very nice jam, especially for just four hours of work!

Alyn,

Well, that backbeat woke me up!
The croak is there but it adds a bit of attitude so not to worry.
Thanks for putting your 4hrs song in the can - its a fun listen.

Alyn,

I really like this! The image of the woman screaming and you running across the road at the lights on Prince Of Wales Drive was vividly visual. It carried me through the entire song! What a terrific way to pull the listener into verse 1.

Your imagination seems boundless!

Regards,
Noel

Hi Rec,

This was going to be one of my songs for that XTRA pak competition, but better ones soon appeared.
The backing appeared almost immediately and the words took a little longer but seemed to flow naturally from my brain. A rough copy was done the 1st night and vocals were recorded the next day. Mixing and "playing with" the scratchy vocals however took a bit longer.
Flipping colds mad

Glad you enjoyed tho'

Floyd was right when he said "There's a traffic light on Prince of Wales drive" is a masterpiece just waiting to happen." You made it happen!

I also think this is more Stones then Beatles, but whatever, I think this is an excellent song.

I lived through a British invasion now I'm living through a Welsh invasion. I just hope that the Irish don't catch wind of these invasions grin

Ducking and running for cover.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Glad you enjoyed.
It started as an anti-love song "she made it so damned hard to love her" but I got stuck on that line for weeks, then floyd gave me the idea and it deteriorated from there rather quickly

So glad you enjoyed

Thanks Noel,
this is probably the fastest song from start to finish that I have ever done thanks to BIAB.
The style just helped the flow of the words, and I also relied on the funny moments as one by one my friends, including me, got divorced around the turn of the century!

Gotta laugh sometimes!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
