Here's my new upgraded Speech Synthesis Device model I-15. http://www.tobiidynavox.com/iseriesplus/#top (Scroll down to the I-15) The sales representative, Nuala South, had estimated 15 minutes for setup but it turned out to be 4 hours! It's Windows 10 OS and I think it's robust enough to run BIAB. @Joanne Cooper, we tested it in the gazebo and were able to get WIFI, which we couldn't with my older model. Colo(u)r me elated (but please stay within the lines). Donny

I tried to pin her down as far as cost to VA and she said $8000.00. I don't know where I'd be without the Veterans' Administration. They have been wonderful to me.

Ps I like the fact that you can spell colour! Jo, the Ms Spelling was for the benefit of my many Canuck and SA friends, eh? Nuala and I nearly froze while testing in the gazebo and it's forecast to be even colder today so I'll likely stay indoors and tweak my new voice and load BIAB. It's only 44F now and windy. Wouldn't it be awesome if I can run BIAB in the gazebo, my favo(u)ite place on the planet? Donny

That is great news my friend. Now will we be able to get a word in edge wise
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Ha - when I read your original post, I thought "aww, thanks!" when I read it... Thank you for sharing the link to your new "voice" - it's quite impressive! ~Callie

I can also control it with eye-tracking. I still have some dexterity but eye-tracking is an unfortunate eventuality. I'm ready. https://youtu.be/6n38nQQOt8U

Don, How nice to hear from you again! Our (USA) Veteran's Administration has been rightfully bashed in the press and by Congress the last few years. It is nice to read that sometimes they do get it right. I consider myself very fortunate to receive my healthcare through the VA. All in all I have few complaints about the quality of service I've received.

It is nice to read that sometimes they do get it right. I consider myself very fortunate to receive my healthcare through the VA. All in all I have few complaints about the quality of service I've received. This is actually my 4th upgrade and I haven't even mentioned my Lamborghini ride. I have a totally awesome power wheelchair. Probably 2,000 Loonies. Interesting story - When told that I didn't qualify for such an expensive wheelchair, my tiny, 80 pound Physical Therapist simply waltzed into the showroom and drove off with it. My veteran's advocate then boosted me to a higher eligibility to qualify me for the wheelchair.

Congratulations Don! That's really terrific news. You're an inspiration to all of us on the forum. It seems to me that you seriously know how to take the word "impossible" and turn it into "I'm possible"!
All the best, Noel

Great news Donny.
I also use the VA and have zero issues with them. In fact a good friend who's a retired doctor also uses the West LA VA and I asked him some years ago why he goes there and not private because he certainly can afford it. His answer? The best doctors all work at the VA. I don't know about all VA's but the LA one is right across the freeway from the UCLA Med Center and a lot of the VA doc's wear UCLA lab coats and id's. And the majority are cute young ladies. You have to be a genius with perfect scores to get into med school regardless of gender so I don't care about that but it sure is different from 30 years ago especially when you're there for a full body derm exam...
My only issue with them is not me personally, it's all the young vets who are there now. They do not get lifetime access that us older guys got. Even with service connected injuries most get 5 years of access and that's it. I'm sure the more severe cases get more than that but still, for my era all you needed was to be in the service during wartime, it didn't matter if you were actually assigned to the war zone or not.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
