Like others said, we like the flute, but we like the arpeggio like strings even more!
These are probably not RTs?

Good work !

Thanks Rob and Anne Marie,

Yeh man, *does peace sign*
No the arpeggio strings were me doodling when the song was rock and I kept them as they were also cool grin

thanks for listening

Very enjoyable, catchy soulful backing track with creative use of flutes and strings. You are a genius smile The unique style of your music reminds me of a band called It's Immaterial, and this song especially their Driving Away From Home.

As Rob and Anne-Marie said, the arpeggio like strings is so good.
Great work!
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best Regards.

thanks Shigeki,
I am glad this song portrayed the boredom of being "cool" cool grin
This is what is so great about this site is we can both appreciate each other's music even tho' we are poles apart in styles!!

take care

Haha, that story went down well in the bars once I'd found an opening to slip it in grin Wish I could meet the driver again to hear his version.

That flute RT almost had me standing on one leg and swaying in time, BUT when I double timed it it was as if Ian Anderson was in the room....scary grin

thanks you from one "talent" to another talented equal.

All the best, keep them coming,

We're down with floyd on this one!

We watched a documentary on Jethro Tull last week so it immediately came to mind when we heard this. I've heard that bossa flute used in many contexts and it works amazingly well here.

As always your back stories are worth the admission alone. I suspect we may be around the same age but your memory is waaaaaay more textured than mine.

Your ability to ferret out seemingly disparate RT/RD's and make it all work is second to none.

And the lyric nailed the back story.

$@#&%^ good!!

J&B

$@#&%^ing thanks Bud, Yeh I do believe we are roughly the same age, I am a 49er. And errr?
I just forgot what I was going to say about my memory grin
oh yeh I have a weird recall because I can remember trivial things and recall them years later with a simple trigger. From an early age I also wrote songs/poems about everything from falling in love to extracting teeth!!

Ferreting RT's etc takes a good cup of black coffeeand that phrase "I wonder what if?"

glad you enjoyed!

What's not to like :-)

Will be listening to this on headphones later while supping a Vintage Cider or two.
That should transport me back nicely to the 70s!

Top work!
Rec

Thanks Rec,
I am humbled.
I like to read the RTs etc that people use as this helps me in my search for"off the wall" RT's. And there are more failures than successes grin
Aah Cider, the only way I get apples as part of my 5, or more, a day

keep them coming yourself!

Isn't this forum great!! Different and contrasting styles of music all from a BOX grin The only varying input is the writer;s brain.

Thanks Greg, I look forward to your new song!

I'm a 46er and that gives me the dubious distinction of being a teenager in the 50's -- barely. Interestingly I have several friends whom are excellent writers of prose and they have the same style of memory. OK, gonna have another listen!

Hey Alyn,

This is incredible! The arrangement and your performance are spectacular. You've really pulled out all stops in putting this together. Everything sits exactly where it should. I was completely thrown by the pitch of the vocals!

This is so good in every way.

I'm incredibly impressed.

All the best,
Noel

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
