Something

Something bad must’ve happened last night
I can feel it in my water; I can feel it in my bones
Tremors in the zeitgeist; something’s not right
Calling up my friends just to check if they’re at home

I don’t want to turn on my TV
Almost every day something I don’t want to see
We bring you this exclusive live commercial free
Voyeuristic coverage of the latest killing spree

Something bad is going to happen for sure
Bet your bottom dollar there’ll be breaking news today
Cameras are rolling; they’re breaking down the door
Interview survivors; take the bodies away

I won’t surrender to negativity
Open up my heart to possibility
Open up my heart; I’ll tell you this for free
I won’t surrender to negativity

Something beautiful happened last night
We came together in a meaningful way
Misunderstandings all were put right
Simmering resentment was all swept away

I was amazed by the love you revealed
My doubts were erased and my spirit was healed
I took your hand; the bargain was sealed
I was amazed by the love you revealed

Something magical happened last night
You told me you had something to say
Misunderstandings all were put right
Simmering resentment was all swept away

I was amazed by the love you revealed
My doubts were erased and my spirit was healed
I took your hand; the bargain was sealed
I was amazed by the love we could feel

Wonderful!! What a great concept for a song. Really nice emotional turn around. And it doesn't feel fake or preachy. Love the guitar work. This is beautifully done. Love it!! Take care. Greg

Peter,

Very enjoyable song and well recorded/mixed.

Highlights for me:

- Dobro at the start
- Quiet part where the acoustic guitar solos (like the calm before the storm)
- Electric solos (great tone especially the outro one)
- The way the song builds gradually from start to finish
- Vocal sound (doubling and subtle harmonies sound excellent)
- Beautiful combination of RTs

Excellent job!

Peter and Leon,

Cool song! I especially liked the transition from the verse to the chorus (nice dynamics).
Beautiful lyrics too.
Sweet guitar solos!

Peter,

I enjoyed the very original take on a personal journey in the lyrics
and the gentle guitar break leading to your solo works really well.
The vocals are excellent too.
Very good!

Wow!!!!

What a great message delivered in a gentle non-didactic manner. The mix sounds excellent and the vocals and pickin' are spot on. We're really loving the point where the electric solo comes in -- very dramatic.

Outstanding guys and we look forward to many listens.

THAT was beautiful, I like the way it builds both lyrically and musically.
Wonderful guitar solos

Oh my gosh, I love the guitar solos in this!!! Super effective at 2.15ish to go from that tasteful steel string lick right into that screaming distorted guitar. I agree with Receder, too, the dobro at the beginning is a highlight for me!

Peter and Leon,

This is an excellent listen. The write and the production are really well put together. You've both done a great job with this.... definitely one to be proud of.

The line "Simmering resentment was all swept away" appealed to me. It's such a clever statement on so many levels.

All the best,
Noel

Hello, Peter

Your Electric Guitar solos at Interlude and ending are so nice.
And their tones are very beautiful.
It is very favorable to keep rhythm with Tambourine only at vocal parts.
Therefore, it is so effective when drums appear with Guitar solos.
Leon's vocal is also nice, very fitted to this tune.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best Regards.
