If you would like to create some Karaoke Video or CDG versions of you songs for fans to purchase as a Karaoke DVD, CD or MP3+G download, here's a way to do it.
There are a lot of Commercial CDG creating software, but I will list some free ones you can use.
Most DVD Players will play CDG Discs (as well as BB/RB).
You can create a music only version and one with the vocal just in the right channel that can be panned on or off.
You can have Guitar Karaoke and mute the guitar track then add the chord in the Lyrics:
When you're [Em] down and [B7] troubled and you [Em] need some....
these are copied from the BB/RB Big Lyrics window > Print > Copy
or Edit > Lyrics > Copy > Note based with chords.
After Hyphenating the text here http://juiciobrennan.com/hyphenator/ remove the blanks before pasting in Karakan https://sites.google.com/site/karakankaraoke/
[C] Lyrics
[C]Ly-rics
Ly-[C]rics
so the chord is not being read as another syllable.
This can be formatted in a text editor, Find/Replace "] " with "]"

Karaoke Lyrics Editor (Win/Lin) http://www.ulduzsoft.com/linux/karaoke-lyrics-editor/

CDG Editor - Edit Karaoke CDG Files https://sourceforge.net/projects/cdgeditor/?source=directory

KaraFun Player v1 http://www.karafun.com/karaokeplayer/v1/
this will save your CDG/mid/kar to a Video with any pic/animated background, you can use WinAmp MilkDrops Visualizations.kfp (put in C:\Program Files (x86)\KaraFun Player\Data\Presets XP or C:\ProgramData\Recisio\KaraFun\Presets Win7(show hidden folders in Windows)
right click karaoke file cdg/mid/kar in the playlist > Karaoke background > select a background .kfp from the list or Presets folder, right click Convert to Video file.

(If you need more visualization preset.kfp let me know and I will go thru that old hard drives.)
Here are the KaraFun 2 player presets that can be used in V1 KF2_Presets.zip
More Visuals: KaraFun_Milk_Visualization_Presets.zip

If you leave a silent 2 bar count-in in the wav and and midi file this will leave room for a Graphic intro like song name/artist that can be created in the initial lyrics.

Midi file Lyrics in KaraFun It will also save the midi file you create from your note base lyrics you painstakingly entered in BB/RB or the easy way see here: http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=372872
To mix the Video file and your BB Audio file together use Formatfoctory (skip the extra software during installation) http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Image-Convertors/FormatFactory.shtml
In the Conversion type list
Video
Audio
Picture
ROM Device
Advanced > MUX, select you Video source, select your audio source.

Mac users, there's a lot of free Win stuff but Mac free stuff is hard to find frown

Hope that's useful.

Great post Pipeline... Just came across this post yesterday when I was googling for Karafun backgrounds, I discover a great resource in BiaB for our kids. The children songs with lyric, so I decided to make karaoke video from it. I did not know it was an option in Format factory for joining video and audio, so that saved time for me also. How did you converted MILK files to KFP files? I have tons of MILK files I would like to convert...

Thank's a lot for posting about this...

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
