Don't know why I didn't notice this before, I use the current audiophile and just noticed I don't seem to have any dxi midi synthesizer installed. I would have thought there is a Microsoft wavetable somewhere in here but who knows? Anybody know where I would find that and how I would Direct Biab to access it? I did find a place to download the coyote for 40 bucks. I'm guessing many of you use that one, right? You think it's worth the 40 bucks? Any other tips? Thank you. WSS

WSS Is your Sonar Platinum the 64 or 32 bit version? If it is the 64 bit version then you have the 64 bit version of TTS-1. Since TTS-1 is a DXi, Band-in-a-Box needs the 32 bit version. You can download the 32 bit version of Sonar Platinum and the 32 bit version of TTS-1 will be installed. Then you can direct Band-in-a-Box to use the 32 bit location. On my computer running the 64 bit version of Windows 7 the 32 bit version of the TTS-1 is located at C:\Program Files(x86)\Cakewalk\Shared DXi\TTS-1.

Steve, about the SONAR and 32 vs 64-bit versions, I believe it is possible to install both versions of SONAR on the same system. That way, BIAB can access SONAR's 32-bit plugins.
I know JBridge allows BIAB to use 64-bit VSTs but I don't know if it works with DXis or VSTis. I use a hardware MIDI synth and don't get involved in all that, but plenty of folks here know a great deal about it.

Matt et al You are correct, you can install both 32 and 64 bit Sonar on same system. HOWEVER, the LAST installed version (32 or 64) overwrites all shared DX/DXi's and other apps (e.g., TTS-1) with the appropriate bit version (32-bit or 64-bit respectively) of whatever DX/DXi's its installing (e.g., TTS-1.dll) BUT see this old thread on one way to have your TTS-1 "cake" and eat it to http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=282967&Searchpage=3&Main=40443&Words=sonar+&Search=true#Post282967Larry

I think I had to run the setup from the hard disk. I have just been using the program right on the external drive. Oops.

Right. Even when running from the external drive, there are a few files including fonts that must be installed.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
