I would like to share a song that I started writing with a friend 30+ years ago and just finished. It's about getting a second chance in life, which is something we all need! Lyrics are in YouTube video. Thanks for listening.

Liked it from the start. I'm a big fan of your vocal. It has a Jeff Lynn of ELO feel. Everything is spot on. Enjoyed this one a lot. Looking forward to hearing more from you soon. Cool guitar solo playing as I write.

Torrey,

Terrific. The chord changes in this are really cool... Reminded me of the "surprises" that Paul McCartney incorporates into his writing...

Love the opening guitar... Nice vocal... What an amazing melody... the synths are nice... nice arrangement... musical..

So pleased that you are sharing your music with us... you are a great addition to the forum. Stick around - for a long time...

This is such a great listen... Music. As it should be.

Torrey, a really nice delivery. Incredibly well written.

30 years to write a song? Must be some kind of record wink

Everything was really well done. Instrumentation, Vocals, Style. Just everything.

Torrey,

Floyd has summed up my thoughts- this really does have the McCartney magic and yet the melody and chord progression sounds very original.
Its sophisticated pop at its best.
Love the guitar riff!

Torrey,

Beautiful. Love the McCartney influences and all the interesting changes and layering in the arrangement as the song goes on.
Super lyrics and vocal. You're playing off the RT's adding your own instruments is always so nice.

I'm really enjoying your songs and your sound.

Torrey,

This is very skilfully written, arranged and produced. You've done an awesome job. As floyd has indicated, your chord progression is outstanding. You really keep musical interest high by making the backing very musical but unpredictable in a really good way! Lot's of talent on show here.

Regards,
Noel

I'd like to say a big thanks to Charlie, Floyd, Videotrack, Robert, Scott, Sundance, Peter and Noel for all the supportive words about "A Brighter Day ". This just got added to a top notch music publisher's book of songs. I appreciate you all.

Some interesting chord sequences there Torrey – just goes to show that writers can (should !) take risks ! The whole thing is underpinned by confident singing and tasteful guitar playing.

This is a hit!! The musical changes are so fresh and interesting. I hear the ELO vibe in the vocals and guitar, and some Beatles, and some Queen, and a whole lotta Torrey. I love it!! What was your vocal chain on this? Take care. Greg

Greg, thanks so much for your supportive and confidence building words about " A Brighter Day ". To answer your question about vocal chain, I just used a Rock vocalist preset in Studio One and added some analog delay and also double tracked the vocal. Thanks, Torrey.

Give the above great success and the accolades already given by fellow forum members there's not a lot left to add...so we'll just kick back and listen again. And then head over to youtube for a look/listen.

This is a very classy production by any yardstick you can use to measure it!

Janice&Bud, David, I can't tell you how much your encouraging words mean. Thanks for taking time to listen to "A Brighter Day". I have high hopes for this song. My publisher thinks he can get this song placed for me. This past week he had a song he placed at #4 on the Billboard Country chart. Thanks again. Torrey.

Hello, Torrey

Very pop tune!
As Noel said, this is very skilfully written, arranged and produced.
And as floyd said, the chord changes in this are really cool. I also remember Paul McCartney.
Twin guitars and your vocals are so pleasant.
Very enjoyable listen.

Best Regards.

Very beautiful pop song with nice soulful production, nice chording and melody. The style reminded me of songs on the Turn Of A Friendly Card album by the Alan Parsons Project. I hope you don't need a second chance for this to become a hit smile

As someone already said, a classy piece of work, Paul McCartney here and there and I detect a very strong ELO influence? E.g. chord changes, vocal (very Jeff Lynne!), guitar harmony interjections. Very impressive indeed, a real pleasure to listen to.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
