[Link no longer valid]

Original guitar instrumental by Bob Buford from the uncoming CD, "Redneck Deluxe." All tracks are BIAB except the Fender Nashville Telecaster.

I grew up with the sounds of Duane Eddy in our house, my mom was a huge fan and had all the records. BIAB makes it possible to create projects like this whenever the urge strikes. Many more to come, no doubt.

Enjoy, Bob

Very cool Bob!

But "Redneck?"

Sounds pretty smooth to me. I would humbly suggest this is too good and too well produced to be true redneck. It is bordering on redneck classical.

If you want real "redneck" you may want to go here.

That link sounds like Southern Rock stuff...a little "Outlaws". cool

My redneck reference is more about me than the song. "BUFORD" duh! The quintessential redneck name. grin Perhaps "Redneck Royalty"? Haha

Thanks for the comments. Glad you liked it.

If you want to produce a compilation CD of your buddies called "Redneck Royalty" count me in, sir!!!! I can see a picture of you on a throne in the back of a flatbed with a crown on your head and tele in your lap.

The only problem we will have is deciding how to divide up the 5 million dollars in royalties we will get if we strike true Redneck pay dirt.

I may even be able to get Tater Totts on the phone.

Let's just say we are related.

I know 30 of them and they all want to be on our record.

They also all carry baseball bats with them where ever they go so I don't think we will have to worry about anyone stealing our gear.

Oh man! Hilarious. All the ones I know are pulpwood truck drivers. LOL Not really. Gen John Buford (Gettysburg) was a relative. Can't swing a dead cat in your neck of the woods without hittin' one of 'em. grin

Just so they can play and sing. We'll all have a good time. Kill a deer or something; roast a hog.

Thanks for listening,
Bob

Hi Marty,

Glad you liked it. I ran the Fender Tele through a little Vox portable practice amp. with built in effects. It sounded so good I took a line out to the board and recorded it. It's just a slap back delay and some compression. Really bites.

Thanks for listening,
Bob

Bob,
Smoooth guitar tone with a nice "bite" as you say... could be driving music, or even cattle driving soundtrack music- either way very enjoyable!

3 pick ups in a tele isn't fair. You can't do that. It's against the rules. You lose points for that. But, you scored extra for the schweet tone. So, I guess, you still get a gold star.

Hey Robert... Glad you liked it. I prefer to use the song in my iPod when I'm in a cattle driving mood. grin

That compressor is turned up pretty good. Keeps everything nice and even. Also gives it that "pick pop" dynamic. Fun to play.

Thanks for listening,
Bob

Oh, but Tobias...it get's SO much MORE unfair. The Tele actually has a Fishman acoustic pickup in the BRIDGE!! So FOUR pickups, tons of tones. Totally unfair. The Tele in the vid isn't the one I used on the song. Here it is. Four pickups and active electronics. Blistering.

Thanks for listening,
Bob

Hi Peter... Thanks. Glad you liked it. I think a lot of the tone also comes from the light top / heavy bottom D'addario Jazz Rock string set. Makes for BIG BASS notes. The set normally is 11-14-18-28-38-49, but we add a 9 and throw out the 18 so it becomes 9-11-14-28-38-49. Also really works great for pedal steel guitar licks as the light tops bend very easily.

Thanks for listening,
Bob

Nice! Very old school but with a modern twist to make things interesting.

Tele sounds great! I was having a read through the posts above and saw the picture and your description of it. I've been a strat guy forever, since '74, but just recently started getting into tele's.

Hey Dave,

That's me: "Old School" grin I just can't seem to get past loving that tremolo. So you KNOW I love that "Twin Peaks" TV show theme. Stuck in a time warp.

I'm also a Strat fan. I blocked the trem on one of 'em for country style playing. Figured if Clapton could do it... smile

BTW...like the stuff you're posting. Just read your latest. Nice work. Was looking thru your ReverbNation site. So is "Blue Attitude" the name of your band? Some good things in there.

Thanks for listening,
Bob

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
