Smoothies (on Ice) - Have one for the night on me, folks wink

Made this with quite some 'help' from the BBox Melodist (a "Kenny G" one in this case, just changed the instrument), chords plucked straight from the smooth jazz style's demo song. And now, the 'formalities':

Title: Smoothies (on Ice)

Soloist: 1075:Piano, Electric, Soloist SmoothBallad Delay Ev16 065 (Bluesy)
Style is =SJAZZBL.STY
Style MIDI Instruments are: Synth String #1 (51),
RealTracks in song: 908:Bass, Electric, SmoothBallad Ev16 065
RealTracks in song: 910:Piano, Electric, Rhythm SmoothBallad Ev16 065
RealTracks in song: 1072:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm SmoothJazzBallad Ev16 065
RealDrums: RealDrums in Song: SmoothJazzBallad

Other sound sources come via plugins (ST for the melody and a custom selected soundfont for the synth).

Now kick back with a cool one and just enjoy! cool

Nice. Lead instrument reminds me of "Northern Exposure" tv series. Cool. Good job. Keep 'em coming.

Thank you. That t show rings a faint bell, but I can't say I ever watched it, let alone remember the music...now I'm inclined to go look for it grin

Smooth indeed. Well done with both the arrangement
and the production.

A nice demo of the creative possibilities with BiaB!

We enjoyed it.

Thank you so much, especially for that word "production"! I realise that once I said "Melodist" and "chords plucked from" it may have made it all seem like aside from pressing a few buttons I didn't really do anything! crazy
So thanks for the acknowledgement to the contrary cool

Couldn't have put it any better than J&B.

Cool and smooth in equal measures.

All the best,

After getting too busy results with that soloist piano numerous times, I decided to try that obscure "around melody" option that I usually never use - worked perfectly for this case cool

Very nice work, we've used the melodist ourselves quite a bit (in our early days).
This one certainly is smooth.

Thanks for that. Interestingly enough, I myself practically never use the Melodist unless I'm testing a sound source or (as this one started) the potential usability of some RT style, for which I very much favour having some melody structure on top. They do adapt to some degree and almost any style sounds somehow more "real" if they're actually backing up something.
This particular one just turned out so good on the melody front that I thought it deserved the preservation...and judging by the feedback, people seem to agree cool

Thanks for that sentiment, but well...you keep asking me to stick around (or come back, whichever be more fitting), but then you also keep insisting on addressing me as "Eddy", even when I keep saying that's not my name confused

I just mean, it makes one unsure of it's actually me you keep encouraging to "come back" and "stick around" wink

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
