Dear Don,

I want you to have my babies!............. metophorically speaking of course.

Only having my BIAB/RB a few days I have been at my wits end.
I am not computer litereate and expect when I buy something that everything should work as it should.

I too have problems with RB crashing everytime I went to record audio/vocals.
I have just read your post regarding this issue and went into RB and silenced the metronome count in.

VOILA ! It worked, hence my metaphorical statement.
Thank you so much.
I think the programme has a steep learning curve ( for me anyway) and without the support of the guys on these forums I would be asking for my money back.
If it wasnt for the 30cms of ice and snow outside I too was going for a long walk!
All the best
Paul

Question: Why do you have ASIO4ALL on a computer with ASIO and an interface that uses ASIO?

I would remove the A4A driver. Just so you know it's not interfering with the process.

Hi Guitar Hacker,

Still finding my way around this RB /BIAB but was experiencing issues with poor vocal recording, so once again came on the forum for help (it seems I spend 6 hours on here and 6 hours going around in circles in RB)and saw your reply to an earlier post albeit not aiming at me in particular.

I don't know why I started using ASIO 4 all thats lost in history, but it got me to thinking, I do have another asio driver whcich I use just for vocals with my line 6 gadget.
So I took your advice and deleted as4all and............drum roll................

Brilliant!! my tinny sounding voice in a deep cave has dissapeared, so you were right there must have been a conflict although I have not expereinced that using my mixcraft DAW.
So thank you kind sir.
PS love your very clear sharp recordings. have you made all those songs in RB/BIAB?

To Eddie & Don ( couldn't resist adding to your song. Blue grass style)

Metronome

Verse 1
Hey, baby, what's that tickin';
Is that your heart or are you pickin'? (note: guitar assumed here)
I'll send you to old soldiers' home
If you can't fix your metronome. (Real Band assumed here)
chorus
I had some problems with the audio,
but some guys on the forum they all seem to know
just how to fix my awful sounds...
twas the click of a metronome that they found.

Hi Paul,

I'm happy to know this thread helped in your situation. You'll find out soon enough, this forum has an amazing group of folks far more knowledgeable than me about many of the technical functions in BIAB and Real Band. Check in often, you'll learn a bunch, chime in to help others when possible. I was just determined to keep trying on this one. These programs are the best music making programs on planet earth!

And To All:

Yeehaw:
An interjection of excitement, generally indicative of delight. Note: The more the pronunciation is drawled (slowed down), the more it is emphasized.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
