Charlie,

This must be your best one to date!
As soon as I heard the intro I was sold.

There is nothing not to like here ;-)

Thanks Rob. My wife liked it because I finally did something different. Honestly have found the reception to be much more than I anticipated. I thought it might be a bit too different....
I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm looking forward hearing a lot of good one's from you this year.

Hi Charlie,

After not having the internet for over three weeks, I can now get back to commenting on songs!

This is a really strong write and shines with creativity on all fronts. The intro grabbed my attention with that bass and those swirling brushes. Then, when the instruments arrived, my first thoughts were "Wow! Wasn't expecting that. These sound great."

Really, really good work!

All the best,
Noel

Superb!! Really cool song in every way. You picked the perfect style for the lyric. The sentiment is very much like "Don't get hooked on me" by Mac Davis. Excellent job with EVERYTHING!! Take care. Greg

Thanks Greg. My wife picked up a Mac Davis vibe in the song too. I guess it's sort of a Mac Davis meets 10cc on Crossroads. It was a fun project to do.

Hello, Charlie

Nice song and nice vocal!
As floyd said, I also feel Tom Waits in this tune.
It is so nice the descent chromatic line, C - B - Bb - A - Ab on the chord progression of C - Cmaj7 - C7 - F - Fm.
I am also a big fan of this chord progression.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.
It's snowing outside now in my city like the lyrics.
Best wishes for this year.

With you being a player with the BIAB band in your city where the snow's falling, it is our good fortune that you're not just 'Passing Through'. I was fortunate to stumble across those chords playing around in the Stylepicker. I always look forward to your posts and I appreciate you taking time to listen and comment on my song.

Hi,
excellent song with a great feeling in it.
Super banjo at the beginning of the song. (it seems like in some Sergio Leone's movies)

Thanks Dani. Its theme is quite a contrast to the romance in your love songs. I think I like your sense of commitment and conviction to a special someone better this fellow who is married to his music and the road.
