I haven't tried doing this since 2017 update but I can't figure out what is going on. I have the completed song done and when I open the song in realband I get a message saying drum track does not exist. The tracks are all there except the drums and instead of the audio marker on the left it has the midi marker. What is going on here?? I tried in both my windows 10 and windows 8.1 and the same thing happens. Any help would be appreciated.
I get that, I just drag them straight to BB DROP WAV then to the RB track, this way you get the exact same file without it regenerating. Drag the Underscore tracks (RealCharts) to DROP MID then into a RB midi track. Another bug was if RealCharts were enabled it wouldn't generate the drum track but I thought they fixed that one.
Just did that successfully, went OK, regenerating drumtrack as usual ... The only fault is that the halftime realtracks had to be manually reset to halftime, an error i reported to PG before.
For now i imported each BIAB exported WAV individually per track into Realband. That worked, but it's more work.
PS Maybe check if BIAB and RB are running as "administrator". If that does not help try checkdisk; i recently had drive problems with an USB external, after copying all files to an other drive, i formatted it, ran scan and fix-repair (long haul) the drive seems OK now. F

For years I would go to realband and open my music folders, find the song, clicked on it and realband would take biab file and open it never a problem, now it crashes etc. I tried what you said and got it to go but when I wanted to add a soloist it doesn't line up and not even in the right key. Is there not a way to do it the old fashioned way?? If not I will go back to 2016 version.
I never really work with Realband. But in this case i imported a Soloist track (midi) generated in BIAB 2017 457, which was loaded no problem via importing the MGU created in BIAB .... the problems i had were only with the halftime realtracks.
If I open a BiaB file in RB, the first thing I do is change all BiaB tracks to regular tracks. RB is not BiaB and I don't want it to be.
If the top 6-8 track names are blue, try the Edit-Make all BB tracks regular tracks. Then you can act like RB is a DAW and generate what yoou want. If you want a solo; select the bars and generate a solo using Realtracks .. or use generate Multiriff and get 8 solo tracks to pick from (or slice/dice together to make one).
I never try to make RB act like it is BiaB, too restricting for my workflow.
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
thanks Rharv, next project start i'll give it a try ... now i still wonder about the half-time track imports, as they were already converted as being not blue. F
This is the first version where I can not just copy the file from biab to rb. I would finish my biab basic song, open rb and find the biab file in my files open it and then turn it to seq and went from there, no drag and drop. Does this make sense? Been doing this for years. Under these circumstances can I just reinstall 2016 over top of 2017 without any problems or will I have to completely uninstall 2017 and start over?
Yes, just open as a normal file but select the BiaB file (SGU etc) as the input.
The trick is in RealBand to immediately save the song as a RealBand format file (*.SEQ) and do further work on it in that format. Much faster, and you still have your original BiaB untouched.
Also, welcome to the neighborhood Shobud56.

That's what I have here!!! No drums in style is the message I get. In the track view it says drums and guitar 15xx don't remember number but same number as my other guitar. Also on far left it has midi symbol instead of audio. Song is all real tracks. 2016 never had this problem or any other earlier version.
