You were born here in the USA. You speak English." I am 2nd generation American. My parents were born here but my grandparents were from Ljubljana. They were 3 months apart in age and were born within a 2 block area of each other!!

Interesting Eddie and I was in the same situation. My grandparents on my father's side came from Italy and forbid Italian to be spoken. I told his family that you are Americans and Italians, thus the kids and grand kids lost out on a lot of Italian traditions and language. But they did keep pass down the food preparation. I love good Italian food.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

You are amazing and thank you for those comments!
Unfortunately, or fortunately, I still live in Central Europe (where they drank plum-brandy= SLIVOVICE and beer=PIVO PLZEN). And at my age of 63 I had about TRUMP into the ranks of Americans will not accept. And so I'm grateful for the opportunity to also in this way learn English with the "native" Americans and and additionally musicians.

Thank you Karel for hosting this forum. As a child, and as a Canadian, my introduction to Czech/Slovakia was through their great hockey teams. Over the years I've learned about the great culture and someday I especially want to visit Prague. Hopefully through this forum, we can learn more, and thank you for facilitating that.

I visited Prague a few years ago.

Coming from a location where it never snows, it was sensational to visit "Old Town Prague" in the wintertime. A most memorable experience, and one of the most beautiful destinations I've ever been to.

Peter, you just have to go there.

An Electronic Technician workmate was from Prague and taught me a little Czech. He would laugh at my verb conjugation saying that I was saying the equivalent of "Jane Wayne" with my Americanized sentence structure.

He said abortion is called canceled Czech in Prague.

Wonderful memories.

My Czech has fallen away through misuse.

Hi Donny,

Hello
My English is still in the stage of study. A discussion like this used for this purpose

In the Czech Republic it is not just Prague. Even here in Moravia is a beautiful country and the people. When someone has a platoon in Europe and the Czech Republic particularly I like to meet with you personally.

Karel

Thank you for this forum - all my problems I solved that I got the right information to solve them. Sometimes I read here just to broaden the horizon of knowledge. This post is the first in my not very good English, which successfully enhances Google translator. In the previous day and today I contributed posts to the newly established Czech-Slovak Forum, for which you and also Karel Jacko - thank you very much smile

Some years back I was looking into visiting Ljubljana, and I bought a travel book. Right on the cover was a beautiful picture of the downtown square. In Cleveland, on the lower east side where the Slovenian community was/is, is a restaurant called Sterle's that is Slovenian themed. In the entry way there is a large mural of that EXACT picture, down to every detail. My book calls Ljubljana "The land of waterfalls", and I would really love to visit before I die. I once connected via internet with a guy from the same area who shares my last name (VERY common Slovenian name) and is a professor at Prague University or whatever is the proper name for it, and according to him I would need to know my ancestor's location down as close to about a 2 block area to find anything even close to roots. And given that I am approaching 66, nobody who knows anything is still alive.

I am using the new 1040XTRAEZ form this year. It has just 2 lines.

1. How much did you make in 2023?
2. Send it to us.

Hey Eddie,

what's your surname. Unfortunately, Czech Republic bordering the Slovak Republic, but it is a different state than Slovenia. Slovisko is more to the south in former Yugoslavia. But Prague is the capital city and there are frequent. Although we do not have the waterfalls, but good musicians on every corner :-)

Yes, it's sometimes amazing how a thread gets hijacked along the way, and quickly contains nothing related to the original content. crazy

Now, back on track smile

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
