With real style _DRVCBAL.STY and entering a couple of chords, the first play after a generation or even after a stop, the drummer gets choked, i.e. there is a stuttering moment in the replay of the audio and only at the first bar and third beat. If the song is looped and restarts it's ok. It does not seem to happen with the other tracks within the style, only the drums.
Selecting other real drums within this style normally works ok, but I found another one producing the same result, e.g. CountryPopEven16.
Appreciate if anyone could check if this is a general problem or if it's some kind of memory issue on my PC.
I created an 8 bar song using that style and couldn't repeat your issue. Try this and regenerate and see if it assists (Control-N for the Song Settings menu):
BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones
Thanks for your suggestion, unfortunately it didn't work.
Starting to wonder if it's tied to having all the real tracks on another hard disk and that this causes an initial delay for the first play, however for some reason not the 1st bar and the 1st beat. I also got the same problem with a real bass track, not as pronounced as the drum track but basically the same issue.
I wonder if your antivirus software might be impacting on performance. Have you tried disabling it and then running BIAB to see if that might be causing it?
1. How much memory do you have installed in your computer. 2. Verify that you are indeed running Windows 10 32BIT version as you stated in your post.
If you have a low amount of RAM installed and are running a 32BIT version of Windows, you might have a problem.
BIAB is still a 32 bit program but like all computers, the amount of RAM that you both have installed and the amount of RAM you have available after booting up the computer could drastically affect your performance.
I notice it when I have generated a song and then go in and edit something. When I start it, after it generates again, there is a glitch in one measure. It is repeatable, meaning, it happens at the same place in the song every time. I happens in various places, normally at the point of edit.
If I go to the top menu and select REGENERATE AND PLAY.... it will regen the song and the glitch is gone. The song will play flawlessly.
After an edit, I simply click on the Regen and play button.
edit: I believe this happens regardless of the style selected in my machine.
Next time I'm working I will take better notes and report back.... might be a few days.

You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.com Add nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
Yes I too have noticed this stutter but only sometimes It has happened since upgrading to 2017. Normally when it occurs is on first opening BIAB any style or song I think I get a moment of silence in the first and third bars first time through if I rewind and start again all is fine. Some times I can repeat this by loading another song sometimes not.
I put this down to Audio drop out at first and played with Asio buffer sizes but this did not help so I put it down to a busy PC so stopped all unnecessary background task AV software etc to no avail. Strangely I have not noticed it for a couple of days so maybe 458 fixed it
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
