Just want to ask PG if they have any idea when the Bent Mason, and Quinn Bachand real guitar tracks will be sorted re the shots and holds? It is not all of them but certainly most of the newer ones. I have psoted RT number before, but at this time I am just asking when the fix is planned.

It is getting abit tiresome to create second guitar part with an acoutic guitar part JUST to play the holds! IE muting it and then re-muting after every hold in a song!

Hello Everyone

I have been following the forum for a couple of months now .

And to be honest was looking to get my self indoors.

I do have a few questions about biab.

Although I have read a lot on the forum, and learned a lot.

I do need to take the next step, which I have done.

To ask a few/a lot of questions/

1st one where can I upload songs too.

not new in any aspect to this ,I have done mostly wav

samples until now.

What seems to me baffling in biab is when you render , why

do you go through a dxi. software, Is that not a midi thing...?

But we have realtracks audio..?

Am I missing something.

Regards

John

John, I'd recommend you create a new thread for this post as it really is nothing to do with the OP and consequently will get ignored as no-one who is not interested in RT's will ever see it smile

Did you try using a DI version ? do they have the same problem ??
If you don't want to wait for PG to fix things you can try below.

I may of suggest this to you before ???
Have a look in the RealTrack picker Holds Column and see what number Hold the RT uses then list the order by the same artist as Brent uses a Tele normally and see if he uses any other Hold numbers.

Change the Hold the RT uses to one of the others or another similar sounding hold (there is no list to say what guitar the Holds were recorded on Unfortunately !!!!)

You can play or just drag into RealBand set temp to 85bpm first, the first one in the list I think is the A chords,
so there will be a Hold played for 4 bars the 4 shots.
X:\bb\RealTracks\Library\Holds
X:\bb\RealTracks\Direct Input\Library\Holds

Save a note of what Hold the RT use before changing.
Biab
Soloist Button
Open Soloist Dialog....
Choose Instrument on the left
Soloist Maker - Edit

Yes, we've released a good update of a lot of the holds. Note that this is part 1 of 2. The second one should be ready in a couple of weeks. But we didn't want to 'hold' things up because this one fixes the newest holds for 2017. (There were a few holds that needed fixing in 2017).
Part 2 should address some of the direct input holds in particular, and matching the volume of them.

So if you see any anomalies, please report them and the fix would find its way to part 2.

One other point, if you've customized the holds by editing them using the soloist editor, you should first, before installing the update, backup default.sol and rtextra.bin in the bb folder. Because these updates will overwrite those files.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
