Hi, friends !

Sorry for having been
off side for too long
but there´s not much I´ve
been able to do to it as
I´ve been in a frantic
episode of my life with
among other things travels
abroad !

In any case, I found an older song I
had written before and thought that
perhaps I could finish it somehow and
here is the result:

http://soundcloud.com/user-337827005/sooth-me

http://app.box.com/s/52vfwfjznosonpa6dx92abosmarlq04r

...and here are the lyrics:

SOOTH ME ! (MUSIC AND LYRICS BY NORMAN WIBE)

When I´m feelin´blue
I´ll be turnin´to you
you´re the only one
noone else around
´cause you´re so true
always so true

When I´m feelin´sad
and it feels truly bad
you take away my pain
easin´all the strain
makin´ me so glad
baby so glad

There are times when darkness fills my inner mind
when I feel I´m just left behind
sooth me, baby just sooth me
in your arms that´s where I wanna be

Verse solo

Take away my pain
ease all my strain
and I´m so glad
baby so glad

Since we met I´m not alone
feels so good to strike a tone
that´s new and not too old
almost like of gold
feels like our love,my darling, it has grown
feels like our love,my darling, it has grown

Recorded with mixcraft 7 pro, compressor and
reverb used !

STYLE: HEPN120.STY

INSTROS: Bass 684, Piano: 2495, Drums: RD:s Nashville even8/hihat ride, Guitar 1: 405, Guitar 2: 543, soloist
= Guitar 3: 1356 Brent !

Cheers
Dani

I liked the feel of the song, but I feel it was disrupted by the choice of the twangy type guitar solo -

like the solo was being stretched to a tempo where it suddenly sounded like a distraction (who is that guitar god noodling like yngwie J Malmsteen in the background?)

I am also a mixcraft 7 user - they would have done much better building version 8 around a BIAB intgration instead of that melodyne work they did. Perhaps its sour grapes because I already have the full melodyne software and their integration doesnt add much for me :-)

Hi FabKebab !

Very many thanks to you for
taking the time to listen and
comment ! Thank you so much for
that ! the Guitar God is Brent Mason
and there are not many there who
can play these kind of fills, you do
agree, don´t you ? :))

Take Care

Cheers

Dani,

I really like this song - one of your best, I think. Very nice melody. Your vocal and harmonies are well done.

I did not care for the guitar fills... they don't fit the sweetness of the song. It was busy. I think a different lead instrument would suit the song better. A smooth sax, maybe? An e. piano?

Cool song.

I agree about the musicianship - but I think it is played too fast at the tempo of your song and would be better removed from this track

Hi, Floyd !

Thank you for your most
kind and instructive
words ! I did change the
tune i.e. I did take the
fills away but left the
solo as I could not change it anymore !

Cheers

Dani,

It's great to see a new post from you! I'm real glad you've taken time out from gallivanting around and have put together this latest from your songwriting desk.

I enjoyed it. As floyd said, I reckon that this is one of your best. You've done a terrific job!

Best wishes to you and Li on your travels,
Noel

Hi FabKebab !

Thank you for reminding
me of the fact that the
fills were just too much !
As you can hear I did take
them away !

Gracias mi amigo !

Very smooth, Dani. Good to hear one from you! (If I was going to be pulled away from the forum, I would like for it to be due to traveling abroad, as long as it was for fun.) smile

Thanks for sharing this one.

Dani, another great delivery
Interesting selection of chords throughout the song, gave it great appeal.
Liked it from start to finish.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
