Hi,

Could someone help me out with this please.

I have the megapack version of BIAB. When I try to load certain styles they don't load, and I get a yellow box telling me it can't find the files. As an example, I tried to load Ben E King's version of stand by me, and it say's it can't find "praise Worship Shine". When it loads, the drums are missing.
No problem with the Otis Redding and John Lennon version, so not a big deal. However, on some tracks it won't load the bass or drums and sometimes the other instruments.

I have tried reinstalling BIAB several times, but it still doesn't find some files.

Am I right in thinking that the missing files do not come with the megapack version?

If so, how do I find out which add on pack has the missing files I need.

One group I really like are The Shadows, and it just won't load any of their songs.

Regards

Start by going to "Help > What add-ons Do I Have"

Check the Real Tracks and Real Drums sets at bottom for missing items.

BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones

Further checking on this, I understand that the Real Tracks described for Ben E. King's: Stand By Me is RealTracks set #233

This set is not included in the Mega Pak, but is included in:
UltraPlusPAK
EverythingPAK
Band-in-a-Box Audiophile Edition
49-PAK 2016
PlusPAK
RealPAK Rock-Pop: 12

You can probably purchase as an Add On Pack

If you don't want to upgrade to a higher version (that has more RealTracks content), when you get the track errors, just note which tracks you don't have and substitute with RealTracks you do have.

And then you can save the current song as a style. Give it a new name (which will now become a user style), and you won't get the error message the next time you use your newly created style.

I think you'd enjoy an upgrade to an edition that contains all the current styles. Styles is what it's all about.

Thank you for your replies. It looks like I will have to buy some extra packs if I want to get the sounds. Your suggestions have helped me a lot, I can now see what to look for when something is missing. I'll also try changing whatever is missing as you suggest jford.

Once again thanks.

If your purchase was recent you might ask PG Sales to do a price adjustment for you to match what the package price would have been rather than the package you got plus the styles as add-ons.
I here they're pretty good about stuff like that.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
