Hi folks,
I made a sound review of the "Fender Stratocaster" (American Standard) for my YT channel.
I also explain single coil hum and the tremolo system. It`s a short video and in English ;-)
Fender Stratocaster Guitar Review

I`m looking to get 100 subscribers for my channel, so I can choose a unique URL name. Hence I`m greatful for everyone who subs my "GuitarVersum" channel.

Thankies,
Sandra

Sandra, this is a very good demonstration of a Strat!

If I could make one suggestion it would be to change the tremolo bar to vibrato bar or whammy bar. Tremolo is a variation of gain (volume) while vibrato is a variation in pitch, as you probably are well aware of.

Fender started the confusion when the labeled vibrato on their amps (it is really tremolo) and tremolo bar on their guitars (it is really vibrato). The term whammy bar is slang over on this side of the big pond for vibrato bar. Is it the same over there?

[edit] - forgot to add that you are a fantastic guitarist.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Sandra,

What MarioD said he is correct; technically it is a vibrato bar not a tremelo bar.

but Fender STILL mislabels their bridges as "Synchronized Tremolo" or "Tremelo" and Amp labels still say Vibrato instead of Tremelo!

Thanks Leo for the 180 out on both.

Larry

PS: But in Leo's defense (at least with respect to amplifiers) I think MAYBE he THOUGHT his circuit (copied, like most amp circuits, even in that era from various tube and radio books) WAS FM or "Magnatone-like." Magnatone amps DID/do have an true FM circuit (pitch shifting aka vibrato).

My Juke 1210 has a combo AM/FM circuit so I get BOTH tremelo and/or vibrato and it is sweet!

PPS: Sandra you have another subscription :-)

Yep, I'm absolutely aware of the tremolo / vibrato thing. And I went for tremolo, because I found out, that people use it more often as a search term. Since I have to consider the SEO (search engine optimization) on YouTube too, I chose tremolo.

I often wondered, why it was all mixed up in the first place. The FM radio thing is new to me - interesting view.

Thanks for subscribing

Nice job, Sandra.

Minor nitpick when you are talking about hum; you mention about the hum going away when the middle and neck pickups (or middle and bridge pickups) are connected in series. They are actually connected in parallel, not series, with the american standard wiring.

The strat deluxe (with the S1 switch) allows some series pickup combinations.

I've got three stats here including a '74 hardtail (strings go through the body like a tele), most versatile guitar you can own in my opinion.

I "liked" your video, was already subscribed to your channel.

Sandra

Great demonstration of the variety from one instrument - extrapolated of course by your excellent skills.

I gave it a 'like', for sure.

Ooops, you are totally right about the parallel wiring. I don`t know why i said that in the transaltion. Because in my original German words i didn`t mention the wiring at all.
Have to correct that.
Thanks for the reminder!

More nit-picking. At 48 seconds or so it says Distortion Rhythm Bridge Pickup. But looks and sounds like position 2 (bridge and middle).

Does the noise in your head bother me ?

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
