Rain All Over MeDavid Snyder threw a hand grenade into the mix a few days ago. I'm tossing this one back at him ... and anyone who'd like to listen. It's a Blues Rock number featuring a smoking lead guitar. Soundcloud's compression someone dimmed the drums. I also replaced the piano with the left channel rhythm guitar and replaced the lead guitar with the one you hear (1588:Guitar, Electric, Soloist TexasBluesRockShuffleSol Sw 130.) I also added slide guitar on the chorus. Thanks for the listen and comments you might care to leave. Before you click onto it, just want to make you aware - it's a bit loud!****** Song Summary ************* File:Rain All Over Me.MGU Key=E , Tempo 127, Length (m:s)=4:39 Style is _COURAGE.STY (Courage Fast Blues Keys Shuffle) RealTracks in song: 1583:Bass, Electric, TexasBluesRockShuffle Sw 130 RealTracks in song: 1588:Guitar, Electric, Soloist TexasBluesRockShuffleSol Sw 130 RealTracks in style: 1585:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasBluesRockShuffleSol Sw 130 RealTracks in song: ~674:Organ, B3, Background Blues Roadhouse Ev 120 RealTracks in song: 1585:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm TexasBluesRockShuffleSol Sw 130 RealTracks in song: ~~383:Guitar, Slide, Soloist Blues Sw 120 RealDrums in style: BluesRockShuffle^1-a:Snare, HiHat , b:Snare, Open HiHat ************************************* Rain All Over Me © 2017 Alan D, David, BMI / Diana Randall, BMI GUITAR INTRO (v1) I got a woman and she's a whole lot meaner than me And I’m so mean I can scare the green straight off a pea I’m not afraid of anything but she scares the hell right out of me (v2) Said I gotta settle down no more making the rounds Gotta keep it at home forget about those nights out on the town Otherwise I could end up lost and never found CHORUS No more all-night bars and hoochie-coochie girls She said bring me a bunch of them diamonds and lots of them fancy white pearls She’s a layin’ down the law, and that’s how it’s gonna be Or she gonna cloud up and rain all over me (v3) When she's fired up her storm surge somethin’ to see Katrina got nothin’ on that gal when she's angry with me She makes a tornado seem just like a calm gentle breeze (v4) I don’t wanna cross that gal cuz it would be suicide She cooked my goose and left my brain chicken fried And when she boils over I find me a place to hide GUITAR LEAD REPEAT CHORUS OUTRO

Enjoyed the listen! Hi Dave, Nice to hear from you. And yeah, they're lots of fun. But until my left hand heals, I have to rely on BIAB lead tracks. Glad you liked it. That's what we hope folks will do. I don't really have a voice for rock. My pipes best fit with crooning, smooth jazz and smooth R&B. But sometimes, ya just gotta step across the line. Enjoy the rest of your day and the upcoming weekend. Best to you, Alan & Di

"I got a woman and she's a whole lot meaner than me" - HA! good one!
"Or she gonna cloud up and rain all over me" - like that one, too.
A fun rockin' tune, Alan.
You're right... some somkin' guitar!

Hi Alan.
Get that bigger hat size ordered, because this is just fabulous. I've always liked the blues anyway, but this is inspired.
Love the lyrics. It's one of those songs where you think "! wish I'd thought of that"!
Brilliant backing track and wonderful vocal delivery - your blues timing and phrasing are superb.
The whole thing has an amazing live feel to it and I must say, I'd travel a long way to hear that band.
Great stuff.
Cheers, ROG.

Al, you were right about that smokin' guitar! There's nothing like great blues tune with a shuffle beat! Good work on this one! Thanks, Torrey.

Wow Alan,
We've never actually heard that "noisy" side of you ;-) But it appears to be there! Yeah, we know what David can do do your mixes, either direct or indirect ;-)

fj Hi Floyd. Thank you so much. When I was small kid back in the early '50s I spent a lot of time with my maternal grandfather (paternal grandfather died ten years before I was born). He's the one I quote in my signature block - Carl Crouch. He was jokester, cut-up and fabulous storyteller. When he was watching me while granny was at work (he retired before she did), if I got into trouble he'd stare at me and say "I(f you don't get your act together, I'm gonna cloud up and rain all over you. And it's gonna be one hell of a storm!" That's the origin of that line. He was very colorful with his language and told some of the very best stories. MY siblings and I would sit around for hours and listen to him tell stories for hours. I could write a lot of songs about those stories but many of them were a little, no - make that a lot - suggestive. My family loves when I make up the songs but would be embarrassed if anyone else listened to them. Not much foul language by lots of adult oriented subject matter. Di never had the chance to meet him. He died in 1966 when I was in Vietnam. But she came up with a few suggestions on how to mold some the lines. ANyway, glad you eNjoyed it., Thanks foR letting me know! Best to you. Alan

Cheers, ROG. ROG, my friend! You are heading me to financial ruin with all these bigger hats I've bought lately. But I sure enjoy the wonderful comments from you. I've always like Stevie ray Vaughn. I have two family members who live in Austin, Texas and the live music scene down there is simply fabulous. That where SRV got his start and he's still cherished there. I've spent many a night prowling the bars near downtown Austin. Thank you so much for those very kind compliments. Wishing you a great week in the making. Alan
