I done some experimenting with BIAB 465 and the soloist with generating a solo on various spots on the soloist track. F.i. RT2121, mandolin, for an 8 bar intro. That worked fine, using 'custom' selecting the bars by number. Then i selected some 17 bars further on, other soloist BTW, but the solo was generated until the end passed these 17 bars. Also tried to 'erase' the solo in the bars following after these 17 bars of the 2nd solo, but BIAB would not let me, soloist track setting either frozen and unfrozen ..... PS there were some bars involved with only two beats (2/4) followed by 4/4 again. Any ideas what's up? Bug maybe? - F
Your Soloist track has a midi Supertrack present at the moment and you've selected a Realtrack soloist from the "generate soloist" menu. This could be causing conflicts.
Have you tried doing what you want on a brand new song and one that has nothing initially on the soloist track?
Hello Noel. Nope, not yet, but i erased the soloist track a few times and restarted the process. For now i have been messing with the whole thing in Realband, generating whole solos, and importing them into Cubase for more editing options than Realband has to offer. I prefer Cubase because of the far better stretch, shift, pitching and copy-paste functions. Often found a missing piece elsewhere, and even stretching an pitching within a wav sample is so much easier to do there ....
This also because in a lot of these generated RT solos i found there are quite often some 'needed' bars or beats missing, probably not there in the algorithm selecting the various parts, maybe due to my inexperience regarding the soloist generator's settings.
But i'll check into your suggestions, but i probably have dive into how this soloist thang really works maybe first; When is it generating a supertrack, when a RT? I have been am a simple MIDI-ot too long, thanx. -F
Added info: Had a reaction from PGsupport on reporting the above: "Run BIAB as administrator" ... Well, i am running BIAB as administrator, guess it's the standard answer you get when you report a bug, not really helpful .....
BTW just played _RESS165.sty dobro style demo through the stylepicker green "quick-play' button, and the dobro plays every bar through. Then loaded the style into my song, and YESSS a lot of bars are 'dry', with no dobro ....... whats up? Some settings wrong in generating the arrangement?
PS the dobro in this nice style, from "RT2170: Guitar, Resonator, Soloist CountryRob Ev 165 , Rob Ickes", has a holds file selected which is just no match for the rest of this nice RT, makes it useless more or less LoL.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
