WHISPERS Hi all, Here's a remake of one of my older songs. It was inspired by a night at the X2 discotheque in Oldenburg, Germany. Man, such a lot of excitement there! I used the audio chord wizard to analyze the chords (which I forgot). Next I added some RTs, chopped up versions (Gritty and Bass). As always I backed up this project on a DVD. Later on the disc turned out to be corrupted, so sadly I cannot retrieve the specifics anymore. I played the classical and electric guitar myself. Anyway, I hope you like it (this may sound a little bit different). Any comments are welcome as usual. Rob

I love it! I think it's impressive that you can change genres and continue nailing the paradigm, even when the rules change!
the various parts are very interesting, and sound more like loops than real tracks. However you assembled this, it's very cohesive and well done! As far as creating opportunities in media, I have to wonder if this genre might open a whole different set of doors for you.
I like the way you start singing to a very minimal backing track then add more instruments to the mix for excitement and audio interest! Very effective technique!
I notice an ad played each time I listened. I hope that means you are making money from the ads! I'd rather hear that you're making money from having your songs on tv shows or movies. ;-)
Anyway... you never disappoint! Best of luck to you, I hope some opportunities come your way.

Hi Rob,
Pat has already touched on a lot of things that we were thinking. I guess you might call this the "House" genre. or perhaps "Dance".
Like Pat, we loved the way you layered the instruments to the ultimate build. And the abrupt ending with you you whispering "Whispers" is great. We loved it!
As a side note, my first wife's grandparents are from Oldenburg, Germany. I visited that area of northern Germany back in the 1980s. And yes, the nightlife is explosive. Germany has a very active nightlife with the club scene.
Excellent!

Hi Rob.
I think it's good that we get variety on the showcase and we certainly haven't heard much Dance on here recently, which is a shame, particularly when it's done as well as this.
You've created a very authentic backing and the arrangement is clever and full of texture and changes. The vocal is superb and the overall production is first class and extremely professional.
Enjoyed the whole thing.
Cheers, ROG.

Thank you Pat,
Funny, I haven't noticed this ad before. Now checking out the URL with a browser where we don't have ad blocking enabled I don't see it either.
I will get into this, although I doubt I can do very much about it since my music is being distributed by Horus.
You are right this song is sample based I created the basis in E-Jay. Thanks again for your very thorough comment!

Wow! I can totally hear the German dance vibe coming from this.
It has a little bit of that grungy/gritty feel to it. It's almost hidden in the undertones but still very audible, and yet it also has a light and ethereal sound that somehow pairs incredibly well.
It completely envelopes the listener. You can definitely get lost in a song like this.
Nice job!
Cheers, Ember

We know absolutely nothing about the Dance or Disco genre other than what we've heard in a couple of films.
But, I've learned enough about production to appreciate just how well this is done.
The bottom end had our monitors dancing around on the shelf!
The way you put the textures and layers together including the backing tracks and vocals is amazing.
We often said this about y'all's productions and will again. It's stunning how huge they sound and hard to believe that then originated in a home studio.
Well done!
J&B
PS Do you not have free cloud access to backup to? Maybe its the states but we have more free space available than we could ever use.

I would say this is my kind of music Nicely combining pop and disco, great rhythm and I really like the use of those electric guitars, reminds me of Soldier of Love album by Sade. Excellent production and vocals, as always. To be played loud on a sunny beach Janne

Wow, this is sensational.
What an absolutely sensational write, production delivery, and everything.
This is a strong, solid write, with a perfect vibe for the genre you've chosen.
Your team has managed to showcase 'classic disco' in every way, shape and form.
I could listen to lots more of this.
Exceptional!

Ok, you are going to think I'm nuts but I feel like you have elements of so many bands! Nitzer Ebb, Depeche Mode, Erasure, etc...and Wham? Crazy good vocal tone you have going on...as always! I always love the atmosphere your songs bring. I'm a production junkie and totally can appreciate what you are doing. Keep these coming! It represents a whole different area of PG M's products really well! I typically don't comment on songs as I many times I listen to them while driving. I happened to at a computer today listening and just had to comment!

Okay, I'm going to wrap this one up, making room for yet another RnAM ballad to follow.
Thank you FFM, Torrey, David C, Shigeki, Tyler, your comments are very much appreciated!
Ember: a German dance vibe, well that sure is a compliment. Thank you!
J & B: thank you! To be honest, I don't know much about the dance genre too (disco is another thing, I grew up with that). The basis of this song was created in EJay which makes it very easy to compile something. But that was just a raw sketch. It took a lot of balancing through the years, and finally with BIAB it got a more "adult" sound, so to speak ;-)
Janne: I had a hunch you might like this, it has some (very slight) resemblances to some of your tracks ;-)
Steve: thank you! And I'm also thanking BIAB for taking it to another level ;-)
Trevor: thank you for this very positive comment! Appreciated as always.
HereToLearn: wow those are a lot of very positive comparisons! And Wham is not really a question mark ;-). I've always been a fan of them, well George Michael (Andrew Ridgely didn't have a lot to do with the final productions if I'm not mistaken). And of course my musical inspiration/reference is mostly the 70s/80s. That is a combination of classical 80s rock and pop, but also the early electro-pop.

I finally got around to listening to this after seeing all the hype surrounding it in the threads here - this is incredible! Truly an amazing representation of what you can accomplish in Band-in-a-Box. Reminds me a little bit of late 80's/early 90's Depeche Mode. Stunning work; you absolutely nailed this one! Those emotional vocals, looming over that lush instrumentation with the gentle pulse of a dance/house song - nothing I would change. You should be very proud of this one Thanks so much for sharing, RnAM.
Cheers, Deryk

Although you said this isn't your kind of music you wouldn't know it by this song!
If I listen to this one more time I will get the urge to purchase a leisure suit!
This is a keeper.
