https://youtu.be/5wDDRT2vEFUhttps://soundcloud.com/torrey-bliss/apple-of-gods-eyeFor this track I used several realtracks to get the feel I needed. This is a song of encouragement for someone who has placed very little value on their self worth. I hope it is an encouragement to someone! Lyrics are in the YouTube video. Hi Torrey,
Another excellent production from you. There's a lot going on here but it all fits in perfectly. Good message! Your technical skills equal your performance skills. That's a great combination. Super classy all the way.
I saw you mentioned you used a Carvin electric guitar for one of your personal tracks. You may recall when I PMs you about my friend, Buddy Keele who lives in your home town. Buddy is his nickname but his real first name is Carvin ... and yes, his father named him after the Carvin Music Company. I thought that was pretty cool to see you mention that as I thought about my friend.
Again, super job on this. loved the video, too! Wishing you the very best,
Alan & Di

You have another very cool tune Torrey. Love the effects you used with your voice. Gave it a Dire Straits vibe for me. Super vocal and guitar was excellent...

Torrey,
That was awesome man!!! Great song!
Production question: how did you get that full on Tom Sholz Boston guitar sound? That was killer!! What effects did you use??

Torrey,
This is terrific music. A solid write. Extraordinary melody! So "musical". Really enjoyed the listen.
Super arrangement and production. As David said it has a "Boston feel" to it - really well done.
There are a few places where the vocal gets "swamped" by the instrument tracks. Might just need the vocal to be raised a bit at that point. Otherwise, this is extraordinary. Really enjoyed it - an excellent listen...

Really nice progression - great production - loved the guitar on "Your Valley" section and really pretty solo. An excellent song.

gospel rock, or pop? Well, you sure make it sound like a pro. Very nice chord progression, and cool vocals as always. In the mid-regions your voice often reminds me of one of the singers of Toto. should be a compliment I think ;-)

Wow, Torrey, that was quite impressive! All of the personal touches you added really work together to give the song a cohesiveness that I don't hear in every song!
Regarding the guitar harmonies... did you play the parts separately? Or did you use a harmonizer? I'm impressed either way, because in my opinion it's not easy to get good-sounding auto harmony. But on listening again, I'm guessing you played both parts because the two notes don't always go in the same direction as a scalic harmony tends to do.
Parts of the song reminded me of George Harrison's style.
I'm always happy to see songs of faith, and to see people using their talent as a ministry. Good job, and I look forward to hearing more from you!

Thanks for the comment David! For the solo guitar parts I played twin leads and double tracked the primary line with about a 10 millisecond delay on it.

We like what Kenny and Pat mentioned...George Harrison. The lyric is of course spiritual but that element of spirituality carries through with your vocal and in our opinion Harrison was a master of that. The guitar and vocal effects were, well, effective Love those soaring guitar licks. Pat used the word "cohesive" and that's a good choice for describing the production. Everything fits so nicely. Excellent list and watch! J&B

Thanks Floyd for listening and giving welcome advice. Actually I had already noticed that some of the lines were covered up a little with everything else going on in the song and I have put a revised mix up (same link) on Soundcloud. Your advise is always welcome here!! Thanks again, T

Wow!!! This is a great song! I love the message, the tune and the voice. I don't know if it's just me but it has this George Harrison type of feeling and I like it.
Is it okay to use your song in our church related activity?
Thanks!
