Regarding my PG-oriented media website: thegigbaby.com Some problems, but not many so far. I'd like to feature some of our outstanding "players" and their talent and "musicsense"...of course, along with other interesting music-related, PG-Related, Music Productions/Gigs/Blogs/discussions! I am attempting to "design" a home page first, with about six "world artists"...musicians and singers, and their yahoo videos...including, in the initial HP I came up with, Carlos Arellano (sp?) , our latin PG consultant. I am NOT a Web designer, but would like to forward the html "home page", to someone who might be willing to look at it and give me some imput. Any suggestions on a website host please write me at lifechangermusic@yahoo.comor comment here about a media oriented webhost situation that isn't real expensive!! I designed this home page at the Network Solution's Website, where I registered TheGigBaby.com domain name. The trial page design and youtube links to my featured artist are at this redirected Network Solution Page...I just had to wait about five minutes for it to load (there are a number of youtubes on there, but if you've got the time, it's worth the wait, I garantee it! : You will get a flashing yellow strip warning of a TIME OUT on this trial webpage...BUT CLICK CONTINUE, and you can move to the next youtube video...I HOPE!!!! http://cclinks.networksolutions.com/?e=Q...+VVWTeZ0XazP3U=

Man, thanks for trying....guess it works for me on either IE or Safari...but...probably because of the "cookie" thing. Sorry I've given you guys a wild goose chase...however, I still will look for a place I can "park" this PG-Customer-created music site. Perhaps I'll stay "there" where I got the domain. I just brought up the trial page again...only took about 5 minutes as I watched the spinning arrows downloading the thing. I've only got DSL....but, I do have the cookie in my cookiejar. Sorry to say, WeinSam, you didn't even show up in this final sample home page....only Carlos and four other youtubes... An interesting New Orleans, Clip.....Ivan Lins....who I dig greatly....Bill Chase, the deceased high note trumpet player's band with a crazy guitarist kid.....oh well...thanks for trying!

G'day GDaddy, something is not working very well with this site - it seems to either be broken or so slow as to seem broken...
--=-- My credo: If it's worth doing, it's worth overdoing - just ask my missus, she'll tell ya --=--You're only paranoid if you're wrong!

Wow, GDaddy! That was quick... NOT. BTW I may drink a bit and I do enjoy wine but it is WienSam and not WeinSam (the former means Vienna Sam, the latter suggests I'm a wino!). Unless you know something I don't

Sorry for mis-start, mishap, mis-spelling...of course I know it's WienSam...like in Wienerschnitzel...pronouced the same way too, I'll bet. Taste Great!! It's WienSam!! I was stationed near Nurenburg 57-58 and did bounce around Austria, Switzerland, Italy..most memorable Naples, where the Polizi were about to throw me in jail for giving my Napoleoni Tour Guide a half dozin cartons of American cigarettas...Camels as a "tip", not as "Contrabanda" as they screamed those smokes were. Anyway, the website will be hosted by NS, but I have to wait for their (engineers) to set it up, they say in the next 24-48 hours. Then (maybe then) I'll be taking my first shaky steps along with thegigbaby.com Thanks all for your patience...as the song goes... "I'll be seeing you In all the old familiar places That this heart of mine embraces All day through. In that small cafe; The park across the way; The children's carousel; The chestnut trees; The wishin' well. I'll be seeing you In every lovely summer's day; In every thing that's light and gay. I'll always think of you that way. I'll find you In the morning sun And when the night is new. I'll be looking at the moon, But I'll be seeing you. I'll be seeing you In every lovely summer's day; In every thing that's light and gay. I'll always think of you that way. I'll find you In the morning sun And when the night is new. I'll be looking at the moon, But I'll be seeing you." and if that's not enough, Mrs. Calabash... here's Bernadette Peters take on GigBaby..which you can't see yet, right??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u46-lrkJG5I&feature=related"She, as well as her voice, is an enigma. As tender and sweet as a waif of a girl, and as arrestingly beautiful, supremely confident as a woman, she can hopelessly captivate me, bringing me to tears that fall like the rain, then mischievously make me smile, like the sun following the rain."

Get a real domain name from a real source. Spend 2 or 3 months at 6 hours a day and learn to code html. And a bit of java. The write a website. Mine's at www.theconleys.caHand coded. It's not hard. Like all of things in life, 2 hours a day, for a year, and you are an expert.

Or at least change the holding page.. They are making money off random links using your domain name
That always irritates me; they sell you a name, then immediately set up a holding page for themselves. If you can see that, then the DNS has propogated and the site is waiting for a home page. Log in to admin area and upload an original home page, or FTP one over.
Better to have a simple graphic and 'under construction' than to let the searcbots cache your site with their ads. I just went directly to thegigbaby.com address and saw a bunch of ads
If you have a page ready, send it over to the server!
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I may be in London but I HATE Chelsea. Hang Drogba! Once red, always red.
Bose have an interesting page, where you drag and drop your gear on the stage to show your setup graphically. I'd' have to pay someone to do that for me.

If you want to quick start the process, you can give Coffee Cup Software a try. I use their free ftp program a lot. They do have web design tools, but I have a bit of an issue with most of those, they can load a whack of code that is spurious.
I was serious about web design, to get a handle on CSS, Html, and javascript you need a lot of study time. The good thing is you can test any file that has html for an extension in your browser before you post it.
Then the hard part, make it work in IE (x) safari, firefox, opera, and chrome.
The easiest way, after all is said, is find a non flash website you like, right click it, grab the code, put it in NOTEPAD, and edit it from "Tom's Tips on Turkey", to "Peter's Website on Music" and keep going, changing links etc.
On the other hand, find some wiz kid and get him to do it for you, and buy him chips and cola.
The other option is to scour the area for a 50's guy with a beard, sandals, dirty feet, and a Tshirt that says 'fortune -o | tty01' who will be an old chainsmoking Unix programmer and he'll do it for a case of beer and a cigar.

I do everything using FrontPage. It does help to understand HTML but you can knock up a basic page in about 30 minutes.
Coffee Cup is a good uploader, if your host site does not have a facility to pull from your machine. GDaddy stick something, anything up there PDQ

My daughter hauled out an old set of licence plates (I think they are called tags in the US), they were one of the first available where you could pay 30 bucks and get something special, they say UNIX Vx LOL.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
