Hi All,

Here's something new - this little piece is called Time Love Space.

How do you slow time
Time that runs
She said well I
Let it run
Run away

How do you slow love
Love that flies
She said well I
Let it fly
Fly away fly away

How do you slow space
Space that fades
She said well I
Let it fade
Fade away
Fade away
Fade away
Fade away

All BIAB Tracks:
366: Bass, Electric, Country Ev 065
365: Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 085
362: Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking Ev 085
2446: Guitar, Baritone Electric, Background Ev 065
RealDrums: NashvilleEven16 Sidestick HiHat

Thanks for listening! smile

Robert,

love the way you insert pauses into your verses for effect!
I also really like that baritone guitar! You've used it on a couple of songs now, and that sort of creates the illusion that you have a live band, and your guitar player plays one!

I remember that a now-inactive forum member named John DesJardins (you've been here long enough to remember him) purposefully used the same instruments in all of his songs in order to make albums of songs that sound like they were recorded in a studio by the same band. Cool idea! Indeed, a band's signature sound tends to be built around the band member's playing style and the sonic characteristics of their gear.

I think the effects you use on your vocals really do a great job of making the verses fit seamlessly into the rest of the mix.

I also like the picture you used for the song on Sound Cloud. Did you draw it?

Bob, I concur with Pat's comments. I like the way you vary your vocal delivery. It's really gives your songs a dynamic missing in a lot of other peoples songs. The baritone really enhances this one. Thanks, Torrey

Pat hit the nail right on the head. Your phrasing is the best that I have heard in a love time. That coupled with the fact that the guitar did not get in the way of the vocals was definitely a very professional approach. Outstanding mix!

Love that guitar.

This is a keeper.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Pat,

Thanks so much for the in-depth review.

I like using the same "band" for particular songs - to me it brings a certain cohesiveness to what I am doing. Typically, I'll end-up leveraging those same instruments for a longer period of time, or until I get it out of my system... LOL!

No, I did not draw that picture - just one of many that I have collected and stored in my virtual art box. smile

Thanks again for the kind words.

Cool one, Bob.

That BAND is working well for you. This sounds so "comfortable". Everything "in the pocket". Good vocal. Excellent mix.

Enjoyed it.

Bob,

This would be a great song in a Cohen brothers movie. Really quite cinematic.

Also, my goal this decade is to write a song with lyrics that are shorter than yours, but just as good.

I realize it might take me 10 years to achieve this goal, but I'm really quite unstoppable once I set my mind to something.

This is a wonderful tune, rsdean! I like the guitar work on it immensely, and the somber yet attention-drawing vocal delivery truly gives it a unique aesthetic. Also, props on the lyrics! Simple, yet effective smile

Thanks so much for sharing!

Torrey and Pat put into words what we have long thought. Yes, your vocal phrasing always is very supportive of the lyric mood and along with the well thought out backing fills adds the mentioned dynamic to the song. We have long felt that dynamics ice the cake on a good tune. “In your face” doesn’t work for us for any genre.

Great piece of work here....lyric, arrangement, performance and mix.

Bob, As others have noted, your phrasing along with the prominent Baritone guitar set a mood that works great. Nice fadeaway at the end. Great stuff! Tom

Hi Bob.

I'm a bit late getting to this one - I never have as much time to spend on the forum as I'd like and yes, really it's all been said already.

A very atmospheric track which is very much in your own style and which does, indeed, sound like a movie soundtrack.

Excellent backing and a great mix with everything hanging together as it should.

Loved the guitar sound!

Cheers, ROG.

Hi Bob,

As I listened, I couldn't stop thinking about how effectively you've put this song together. The music and your singing are very atmospheric and are well framed by excellently planned arrangement. Very nice indeed.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
