Hi Rob & Anne-Marie,

Yep, all midi except the low-key drums. And thanks for mentioning the ending ... you have no idea how many I did that before I got what I wanted ... kind of like fanfare at the end! Thank you for the very nice compliments!

Thanks so much, guys! Midi is a mystery to me, too! I just loaded the tracks and farted around with them until I git a sound that I liked. (I like to give technical explanations ... ha!)

Hi Greg,

Thanks! I do a **LOT** of film music. But I don't post them here because most them are done on a different program. In fact, I have an entire album of soundtracks pieces called "Sounds of the City". I tried to capture the nuances of the various aspects of the big city.

Thanks for your kind words!

This is one of the most unique compositions created in B-I-A-B that I've heard on the "User's Forum." Is the film available for viewing in the United States?

Hi Loren,

I apologize for the tardy reply. My wife's health is not good and I've been tied up with that lately. I'm glad you enjoyed the track! I always loved film music ... I grew up listening to the soundtracks of the old movies from the forties and fifties and have been enamored with them since.

The film people are shooting out od town for a while. When they return, I'll ask them about the name of the movie and where it might be seen.

Thanks for your kind words!

Hi David,

Wonderful work! I love it.

The Japanese flavor is well expressed and mixed with other countries'. The sitar sound is effectively used in place of the Koto sound.

I know a very similar Japanese couple. In this case, she is from a family of strict Japanese cultural tradition which is very rare today in Japan especially in large cities. She is from the city in Kyushu that was a castle town and therefore still inherits some of the Samurai-age culture. She herself is free from the tradition. They live in Tokyo for long and met there. They got married last year. Their wedding was held in Hawaii.

Thank you very much, Hiroshi. And that's a very interesting story you told about the Japanese couple. Hawatt ... beautiful! I spent a month in Japan in 1967 - you have a very beautiful country!

Thank you again for your wonderful comments!

Dear Mr. David...

I am truly sorry to read that your wife is experiencing less-than-good health. Boy, oh, boy, our bodies sure like to remind us who's the boss, don't they? frown

Well, my late mother, Edith, taught me that you pray for what you really need, and not what you want, so, I am going to petition Our Creator to deliver some quick and lasting relief to your wife from whatever is ailing her.

What is your wife's first name, so I can let Our Creator know for whom I'm asking the blessings?

Most sincerely,

"bluage" (a.k.a. Loren)

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
