I'm sure it's been covered before, but I'm digging in to RealBand at the moment. I'm enjoying it so far. Multirifts, gain nodes, regenerating bits of RealTracks and endless tracks. grin What else should I be checking out as a priority? I plan to pull things into Reaper for mixing and mastering with Neutron, Ozone etc.

You've covered the things that I find most valuable with Realband.

Something that I have yet to investigate fully, and that looks incredibly powerful on the video, is the Click Track function.

If you go to the Youtube link below, the click track explanation begins at 37:44

Noel

P.S. The whole video clip is worth watching, too.

Or the Audio Chord Wizard if the tracks were not recorded to a structured click.
This can open up the song to RB/BiaB options. Especially the Tempo Map; using ACW to establish a new one is a nice feature.

FWIW Ozone, etc works in RB also here. If you like Reaper, fine, but don't be afraid to open Ozone (etc) in RB.

Thanks Noel. That was very interesting to watch. I, like most, had no idea that was tucked away in RealBand. It seems I need to move away from rendering in RealBand and try some of these copy options. I'll try them out over the next couple of days.

Thanks Rharv. I'm assuming you use minihost to run ozone, elements etc. I need to investigate that. I really can't decide whether to try to do it all in Realband or move to Reaper for the final stages. At the moment Reaper seems more intuitive and sexy! Realband keeps turning my head though.:-)

I tried following that video on click tracks about a year ago. Wasn't able to get it to perform quite the same as they demonstrated. I just left the feature alone at that point.

I don't need any help running Ozone; no mini host or anything.

Jbridge should suffice. Some machines here run a 32 bit version with nothing at all. Just added the VST in the VST window ... as you can see, it runs natively as a VST and/or DXi here.

Do you have JBridge? If that's a 64 bit dll you'd need it.
Is there a 32 bit dll to try?

Hi

Yes, some 64 bit vsts work but not Ozone. I bought it when I purchased BIAB2017. Maybe I need to set it up for RealBand as well. To be honest, I don't remember specifically setting it up for BIAB, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it work at all. Ozone elements is in a different folder from LVLMeter64. That might be part of the problem?

Not sure what the problem would be.
I'd do a live chat with PGMusic support and see if they know.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
