Hey Danny - looks nice and fresh. I like the changing photos. Very professional looking . . . except no ads - LOL However did notice a typo or two on the music page.

Did you author this website yourself? Whatever the case it's a great looking site, my man.

Cheers

My nephew set up the format and I plugged in the contents. Please tell me more about the typos? This is the kind of additional eyes and checking I need to get it corrected.

Thanks Ian,

Danny, on your music page - I would suggest that the .mp3 links start new pages or new tabs. Right now in my FireFox, they leave your band's site - which you don't want to have happen.

I love the photo montage on the home page - everyone having a great time dancing. Looks like you've brought lots of joy into the world - well done!

BTW, if you had to pick 5 standard oldies to learn to play at retirement/nursing homes, what would they be? I'm on a mission to learn at least 5 standards by 2010. Can include popular classical piano numbers. I'm working on Beethoven's Patetique right now.

Nice site Danny. Congratulations!
Simple & easy to navigate. Easy on the eyes.
Did see a typo on the music page. (should be "their" instead of "there")

Very slick and impressive, Danny

Sure you don’t want to put all those songs in the ‘Credits’ section in alphabetical order, Danny. It would make the list easier to search.

….and… Steveland Hardaway Judkins IS Stevie Wonder – surprising that name didn’t come up in the recent ‘what’s the real name’ thread!!

Good work!

Great suggestion, as soon as I figure how to do this I will - Thanks!

Scott I would pick five from the ten I have listed below with the only caveat being that if there are some local hits in your area they may trump the worldwide accepted standards, in that case I would add them. For instance in New Orleans it is Blue Berry Hill and a couple of Cajun tunes like Jambalaya, My Toot Toot and of course you don't play a gig in the Nawlins area without playing When The Saints Go Marching In. With that said here are my top ten not necessarily in any order of importance:

The Sheik of Araby
Side by Side
Slow Boat To China
A Four Leaf Clover
Gonna Write Myself A Letter
I Left My Heart In San Francisco
Saints Go Marching In
Hello Dolly
For Sentimental Reasons
As Time Goes By

If you need arrangements let me know . . . I hope this helps,

Zebra,

Thanks for the kind words and observation. Re: Rick-N-Robins, no I don't play this club, as it is a little too big a venue for me as I am a solo act. Besides I have gotten away from the clubs on this my second go-round playing music. My forte is retirement communities, (42 and counting right now) private individual parties and of course the wonderful great paying corporate gigs.

Danny, thanks for the standards list. I think I have charts for Hello Dolly, Four Leaf Clover and San Francisco.

If you have chord charts and melody/lead sheets - I could make use of those for any of the songs. I assume copyright is expired on most of these. I don't use either BIAB or RB, so good old printable files is what I'm seeking.

Hey Scott. You should be able to find all that on google. That's where I usually find my lyrics to songs as well as midi arrangements. Altho', I usually use the midi search engine on my web site.

Danny your site is fantastic. Neat and easy on the eyes. Loved the music on the music page. Didn't get to listen to all of 'em but I listened to about 5 or 6 altogether. Only thing I would do is remove the count in sounds. On a pro site you don't need to let 'em hear that you're using midi instruments.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
