Several of us use Ozone. When used with moderation, it’s fabulous.

Matt

I know this and thought someone on the forum like myself might not have it so might be of interest.

I bought it because of you guys rating it so highly.

I got the elements bundle for $79 a few weeks back. Neutron, Ozone and RX6. Now it's $199 and Ozone for $29. It's just a matter of hanging out until they go down in price and jumping in. grin

All great advice above.

If you're prepared to use Ozone correctly, then have your credit card handy when you try it out. You won't be going back.

If you don't already own Ozone Isotope, then this $29 Ozone Elements is a no-brainer buy. If you are unsure of what it will do for you, download the free demo and try it out on one of you mp3's. You may be surprised.

Sure. My reason for buying it maybe 12 years ago was to compete in the ‘loudness wars’. My recordings could finally sound as loud on average as commercial recordings. This is but one of six or so functions that Ozone can do, but all within the same easy interface.

Ozone can give you an instant fix that you love at first, but after listening for awhile it can seem harsh. My general tip, which I have written here many times, is to set the level of any plugin where you can hear the effect, and then back it off by halfway.

Another tip: Ozone can be processor intensive. You can use it on a track and save the result, or stick it on the master bus or stereo bus. But if you intend to put it on each track while doing non-destructive mixing, you are better off buying Alloy, another great product by Izotope. Very similar but designed for multiple instances.

That is a steal.

I already have Ozone 5 and 6. But I got this anyway.

I paid $150 for Lurssen which is pretty cool.

Can't wait to see how they compare.

Me too! Jumped on the band wagon before I realised that I may already have all I need with Ozone 5...My FOMO (Fear of missing out) took hold. But enjoying comparing to what Ozone does.

As far as I am concerned the Izotope plugins are the best (this said after a rather disappointing foray into Slate Digital...)

Joanne,

This seems to have some cool features as a one stop shop, which is what Lurssen is. I LOVE Ozone 5 (though I have 6 as well) for some of it features in the next to last stage master.

This has cool cool presets for that final render. Worth 29 bucks for sure.

Beatmaster,

ALL of my recent songs, at least the last ones since and including "Oh By the Way" were done with Lurssen. You may want to listen to some of them, especially "Oh By the Way."

https://soundcloud.com/davidsnyderchannel

Although I have all the Ozone stuff and almost everything IK Multimedia makes, I just can't find a substitute for those Lurssen presets and the overall engine for that VERY LAST render.

There is just something so WARM and defined about the sound it renders, it gives me exactly the final sound I want.

But I use a lot of other stuff on other channels before I get to that in the mixing stage, basically the entire IK Multimedia catalog of old school compresssors, EQs, a lot of stuff.

I LOVE Lurssen though.

I mastered my last acoustic album with it. Here is that post:

http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=418038#Post418038

What I love is that you can load an album to be mastered and save as a project. It saves the whole album and you can do A/B testing of each song, making small adjustments to each and saving the project.

Then, when everything is just perfect, you export the mastered album/project and you are done. I love it.

David, same here. I found version 6 just a touch less friendly to use. Too much emphasis on presets. For that reason, I didn't buy 7 and I wonder what the improvements (or possible steps backward) are.

Hi
I got Ozone advanced and I tried Lurrsen console demo .I think Lurrsen is mastering the way Lurrsen himself would master,so if you like that way its great.Ozone is a mastering education on the other hand ,the programme is so far reaching on the things you can do especially anything multiband.I would however like to invest in Lurrsen in the future and it will probably expand its range as well.If you get the demo you will really know the ins and outs fairly quickly and you will know whether its worth the investment. With Izotope I felt like it really ups ur game and the whole ease of use and learning curve is amazing,Hugh

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
