I'm a newbie to BIAB. I purchased the 2017 BIAB Pro and installed it. It seems to work fine, however when I use StylePicker to Real Only it shows about 12 selections. The software says it has 202 Real tracks. Also, sometimes I get a message that it says No Real tracks. I went to Help/Utilities/Run Manager and did a download of the Read Tracks. I can see them in a folder called BBDownloads. I tried to do a Slow Rebuild and it didn't work. Not sure what's happening. The software says I have enough room for them.
Do Realtracks work sometimes and then sometimes you get the message you describe?
If that's the case it might be because the ProPak does not included all the Realtracks (there are over 2,000 of them) and you might be choosing a style for which you don't have one of the Realtracks.
Thanks everyone. I did solve part of the problem. I downloaded the software but did not know to separately install the Real Tracks. I did that last evening and after that I also went to the web-site and downloaded the July 18th update. So, everything should be in the c:\bb folder installed. Then I was told to do a slow rebuild in the Style Picker. Again, the software doesn't find any new styles to rebuild. I have the options set to Real only. But again there are not many real tracks I see maybe a dozen and I'm supposed to have over 200.
I do clear any filters and it shows more but not the 200 or so. Then sometimes when I select one of the styles listed it will say Real Tracks not found. You do not have the Real Tracks even though it will play the chordsheet. I assume then my package might list Real Tracks that did not come with it. I do not see Custom Real Tracks in the preferences. I could not do a Slow Rebuild.

Re: "I do clear any filters and it shows more but not the 200 or so." How many does it show? (see capture, below).
Re: "I could not do a slow rebuild": You got an error message?
Help > What Add-ons do I have?... Does it list styles that you believe you should have?
BIAB & RB2024 Win.(Audiophile), Sonar Platinum, Cakewalk by Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M Monitors, Pioneer Active Monitors, AKG K271 Studio H'phones
I'm answering your two posts. Under Options/Preferences/RealTracks I do not have a Custom Real Tracks folder. I assume everything is under c:\bb, at least that's where I installed everything.
The total items listed in Real Tracks under Style Picker is 101 and yes I did clear any filters before the count.
When I try to do a Slow Rebuild it just says there are no additional styles need to be added.
PGMusic did email me and said I could do a manual download of everything from their site, but I'm not sure that's the problem.
I was supposed to get 202 Real Band tracks. I do not see any Blues tracks which I assumed I would get?
I'm new to BIAB forum. I purchased 2017 PRO and I have the same problem. I only have 101 RealTracks showing in the style-picker, when showing ONLY RealTracks.
How do I get the full 202 that are supposed to be there?
Also, are there any BIAB users local to me in Oregon? I live in Canby, south of Portland, and would be glad to meet via phone or in person to get a quick start with BIAB. I need to learn this ASAP for my songs and have several questions.
A great way to make sure you have installed everything from your purchase (Pro, MegaPAK, UltraPlusPAK, EverythingPAK) is to use the Download Manager feature in the Windows program - we have a tutorial that explains this here: http://www.pgmusic.com/tutorial_downloadmanager.htm
Wow! PG Music tech support is great. I found out that I didn't purchase the 202 RealTracks I thought I had, but I will get the UltraPAK eventually (after I learn the 2017 PRO).
During this time, I've had several questions answered.
I had exactly the same expectations. The term PG music uses is: available, where I expected to get 202 new RT. So if you want them all you still have to buy them in one of the Pak's. Very dissapointing. I also thought I was missing several RT's but it turned out they really are RD(rums) and are installed by the master installer in the RD folder!!! Look on the website RT 275/76/77 are in fact RD but the website will call them RT's...
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
