Hello. New here, and I have a simple question that I hope has an answer. I received a "Yellow Alert" upon restarting BB 2017. It was gone before I could read it all, but it involved deleting some file on my system and restarting the program to scan for plug-ins. Are these alerts archived in my system somewhere so I can go back and read them? If not, what might this one have said, if anyone knows?
I have other questions, but am working my way through the pdf manual with hopes of finding answers. The Yellow Alert issue is not referenced there, however. Thanks.
In your BIAB folder you should find a sub-folder called "data" (e.g. C:\bb\data). Loog for a file called "FlashMessageLog.txt". This file should contain the Yellow/Green messages with a date-time stamp.
By the way, it's on about page 617 of the PDF user manual (I say about, because I don't know if I was looking at the most recent version; sometimes the page numbers change).

In addition to the good advice above, you can locate it through a menu option. (Note that the order is from latest to oldest in the display though.) Also, welcome to the forums.

C:\bb\MaxPluginsToScan.txt file limited the number of counted plugins, likely because of a previous crash. Rename this file and reboot to try to scan plugins again [2017.467.2, 9/26/2017 6:14:58 AM]

Yellow alerts require a full knowledge of Star Trek protocol, covered on page 47,018 in the PDF manual (not).
Welcome back. I think you'll find more similarity than difference, with many evolutionary improvements. The huge change will be in the sound, using the RealTracks and RealDrums, but apart from selecting them, actually constructing a song is similar to what you know. Every new version, I look at every menu and pull-down option. You'll find many new options, and a few have relocated. Worth the time to review.
The other thing that may help you most to get up to speed is to bring up the 'classic' interface, which should be more familiar to you at first. Near the upper left corner is a box under the word, Master. Click on the center of the bottom row, for 'Normal Screen Mode'; it's just left of the little word 'DAW'.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
