Guys I have not been able to validate or to use ILock at all for the two VST's offered in this forum. Not eve been able to contact their support page. I gives me this message on top saying that the time has expired, you click where it tells you and loops around again to ask for your info, and so on. Ny one having this issue? Thanks

Mike B.

I'm sorry you are having problems using iLok.

First, after you install iLok Manager on your computer, I recommend rebooting the computer and then when you bring it back up, make that you log into your iLok account.

Did you register the your VST's with iLok? You should have received serial numbers when you got the VST's, and then you have to enter that information into the iLok manager (after having logged into your account) to authenticate it. Once it has been registered to the cloud, you can download the license to your computer or to your iLok dongle (your choice).

Just running the iLok installation software doesn't let you use the libraries until after you have registered them.

Let us know and we can further help.

Besides what John said

-Install iLok

-reboot

-run iLok Manager

-- in upper right hand corner see the empty space for typing something and a little "..I" next to it? Click on that "..I" and it will pop open a window to enter a very log string of alphanumerics - it will allow you to paste in that long string from a copy and paste

-- that will "activate" (ALLOW USE) the SW in question.

Be aware that SOME programs, if you try and run them BEFORE activating via iLOK will try to get you to "authorize" from inside that app, which can be a headache and cause headaches if you do that FIRST.

Almost all iLok dependent SW I've have has explicit instructions on how to install and activate- I KNOW AIR Xpand2 is one on of them - AIR site

http://www.airmusictech.com/kb/article/2216

so read the instructions first
good luck

Larry

PS - if you are running WINDOWS 10 and after installing iLok and you boot and you try to run the iLOK manager and get a "not installed properly" or similar error don't panic - the "Pace License Services" probably just needs a little "tweak" in the Windows 10 Services

run Services (if not sure how to do this type "services" in the Win 10 search window [bottom left] next to "start icon" and select the "services" app that comes up

In that long scary list of services find the "PACE License Services" (it is alphabetically listed),

- right click it, then select properties, then change "Startup type:"

from

"Automatic" to "Automatic (Delayed Start)"

then re-boot

- Not sure if pace/iLok ever actually fixed this (given iLok knows about it now , when they install they could have SET that service to delayed!)

and you can google and find other references to this "fix"

I also go round and round in circles with iLok, but eventually I managed to get everything verified on my notebook and PC. I didn't realise that iZotope seems to use a variant of it. I have something like 17 untouchable iZotope codes. crazy

Thanks to all for the replies. My main problem is that I cannot even get to open Ilok. When I go and open the "little I" on the upper right corner it actually ask me for my id and the password to get into it, nothing else. When I say I forgot my ether password or id it gives me like and error message on the top part of the page saying that my session has expire "click here" then ask me for my information again and again like a revolving door. Also says not to create a new account if I already have one.If trying to get support, same thing. Frustrating.

The little "i" is for entering your registration code

Try signing in FIRST in the upper LEFT hand side where it says Sign In

I know it shouldn't make any difference but... worth a shot

and not to insult you but you are 100% CERTAIN that you are using the exact same user name and password that used to create the ilok account?

you can ALSO try going here

https://www.ilok.com/#!signin Maybe get better help/access

If you have NEVER registered ANY licenses with, or on, iLok you could create another account it won't hurt. BUT you don't really want to to do that if HAVE registered anything because the licenses are locked to the ACCOUNT (and device).

https://www.ilok.com/#!registration

You can transfer licenses to another (new) account but you have to first be logged in to the original (OWNING) account and in your case you are having trouble doing that)

Good Luck
Larry

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
