GRIT

woke up this morning and my house was gone
my truck was swimming right across the lawn
called up my daddy "what's going on"
better move fast son been another storm
best not be crying i raised you strong
somehow someway we'll get along
and lord knows i don't need no shrink
all i need is a second to think

cause i got grit, i got grit
i don't talk pretty i'm full of it
i got grit, i got grit
you won't knock me down get used to it
   i got grit

woke up this morning and the sky was black
yelled up at god what the hell is that?
he said don't worry son i'm coming back
i said hurry up then cut me some slack
i won't cry i'm made strong
just like a little light with my dawn
you know i don't need no shrink
just need a second to think

cause i got grit, i got grit
i don't talk pretty but i'm full of it
i got grit, i got grit
you won't knock me down get used to it
   i got grit

lord says we both need a drink
i need a second to think

cause i got grit, i got grit
i don't talk pretty but i'm full of it
i got grit, i got grit
you won't knock me down so get used to it
you won't knock me down get used to it
   i got grit

Grit is a hit!

Everything is spot on. The mix, backing tracks, guitar lead, vocals and harmonies.

Floyd, Janice and that Snyder guy has a hit on their hands.

Two thumbs up.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Heck of a vocal! and tight spot on harmonies. Immediately engaging and full of (well) Grit....
Top notch songwriting team - and a nice guitar solo from David.
Wonderful work all round. (Hope you guys have broken the back of the Hurricane clean up).

Floyd,
Wow, now that`s a lead vocal to part the waters!
Love the humour in the lyrics.
Super backtrack and harmonies and David`s guitar intro and solo
reminded me of Steven Stills at his best.
Marvellous collaboration.

Wow - you guys nailed this! It's perfectly catchy, and sounds professionally mixed. I wouldn't bat an eyelash hearing this on the radio beside other southern classics. Not to mention David killed it on the guitar!

Thanks so much for sharing smile

Hi there Floyd, David and Janice.

Yeah, great - I mean, what's not to like?

A fabulous groove going on, spot-on vocals, a HOT mix and fun story line.

I need to play that one loud in the car.

ROG.

Thanks everybody! (And yeah Dave that was a Tele plugged straight into a Fender Tube Amp, man. No frills.)

It is funny the way this song went down.

I was on the phone with Floyd talking about something else and I said:

"I think I might have another one man."

"What's it called?"

"Grit."

"How does it go?"

"Well, that's all I got right now man. Grit. I got grit and I'm full of it."

"You need more words."

"I know. Let me work on that."

Two hours later I send Floyd some more words.

Floyd emails back:

"I can take it from here."

smile

I love this group. You couldn't possibly have more fun even if you were sitting in a room in Nashville.

This forum is where it's at man.

Cool song, guys! That Snyder guy knows his way around a G-string!

A little different vocal style for you, Floyd! But it sounded terrific. Good collab on the lyric and whichever of you wrote the music/melody did a great job, too.

Avant-garde Country Rock? Could be!!! I do a little Avant-garde Jazz and this has some of the same elements from a Country genesis.

That was a super listen!

And yeah, David ... "BIAB U"!

Bets to both of you. Okay, gonna go get another one ready for posting.

Alan

Thanks Kenny!

Man, you should have heard the FIRST take.

It was so close to Amos Moses we both laughed really hard but we had to take it out.

But I am glad you liked it.

We have a movie coming out called Monster Truck Cuties and yes this will be in it, and yes there will be a lot of cute off jeans and stuff like that.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
