The first song I've posted using my new play-toy (vocal processor - TC-Helicon Voice Live Play). I think I need to pull the vocal back a little bit in the mix. Would like to hear your opinions on that. It has kind of a Brian Setzer feel - mid-tempo blues shuffle rock. thanks for the listen and any comment you care to leave. Alan, you're smoking with this one. I like the sound of the new processer. Well thought out lyrics. The guitar solo rocked. All around success. Well done.

Sort of a rockabilly combined with a jazzy feel. Definitely a song many guys could relate to. Good job.

Al, I really enjoyed this, and you might be a bit critical on yourself about the vocal.
I thought it really worked well, not too much in front, and about where it needed to be for this type of song.
The tune has a great vibe and some interesting chord structures.
Overall, this is really good.

Really good Alan! Definitely has a Stray Cats vibe happening, the chorus especially. Vocal sounded ok in the mix to me, I thought at the beginning of the song it could have been a little more upfront if anything. My new favorite from you I think

Hi Alan.
Nothing wrong with the mix from where I sit - sounds great.
An excellent rocking blues.
I love this kind of stuff!

Great work on this! It's got a great groove, and got my foot tapping almost instantaneously. Not to mention, the melodies here are super catchy. This tune is definitely an ear worm. Thanks for sharing

Hello, Alan
A cool song! Jazz, Blues, Rockabilly are well mixed. It is really nice that an unique chord progression is devised as usual in this tune too. The effect of TC-Helicon Voice Live Play is also very interesting. It seemed very fun if I had one. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Alan,
Great-feeling tune, Alan. Fun. Really moves along nicely. I like it.
I'll have to disagree with most others... I thought that the mix needed work - the vocals "sit on top" of the mix instead of "in it". The instrument bed sounded like it had too much high end across the board (which is what makes the vocal seem to sit on top) - too "crisp". There seems to be no "warmth" to the mix - which I think this ought to have. The vocals themselves are good. Just an opinion, of course...

Catchy, melodic, melancholy, the chord progression varies nicely between major and minor.

fj Hi Floyd, Somehow I overlooked your comment. I didn't see your reply until I looked at Janne's comments. Getting old brings new adventures! I think you're probably right about the EQ being too high throughout. When I get a chance, perhaps next week, AI'll go back and redo this one. I wasn't real happy with it overall. I shouldn't have posted it until I had a better cut/mix. I guess i was over-excited about my new vocal processor and got impatient! Glad you liked it otherwise. I always appreciate your feedback. never feel hesitant to point out what needs another look or do-over. I have a wife and friends for a pat on the back, even when it's not earned. The input from my musical peers is what counts in the big picture. Thanks a bunch for your constructive comments. I appreciate them very much. Wishing you and yours the very best. Alan

Janne Hello Janne! Thanks for the listen and very nice comments. It still needs a little work - will be getting to that real soon. Thank you for the kind observations. I appreciate your time and input. Wishing you well, Alan

Take care. Greg Thanks a lot, Greg. I am going to redo this one in a week or so and repost. I was overly anxious to post something with new vocal processor and jumped the gun. Glad you enjoyed it anyway. My grandfather used to tell me that, in so many words, when I was a young teenager and thought I knew it all. i thought this might be a good place to bring that back to life. Thanks again,. Wishing you the very best, Alan

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
