What a fantastic song! Maybe it's just me, but I totally got a hint of a Johnny Cash vibe with this particular song. Maybe it's the vocals! I really enjoyed the lyrics to this particular tune. Excellent job.
Can't wait for the next one. Hello Ember. Many thanks for your comments.Rob

Rob,
A really good lonesome road feeling to this - very nice soulful vocal and that sweetness in the melody makes me want to sing along on the chorus. The resonator and baritone guitars sound great together. Very good!
Robert Thank you Robert. Rob

Hello, Rob
Very nice tune! Beautifully performed. I entirely agree with Robert. A really good lonesome road feeling to this - very nice soulful vocal and that sweetness in the melody makes me want to sing along on the chorus. The resonator and baritone guitars sound great together. Enjoyed my listen a lot.
Best regards.

Different...in a very good way. Like Ember we heard a hint of Cash in the vocal and that is always good.
As Mario mentioned these lines are stand out:
"And I know you shed a tear and we shared a beer I held you near. Where gonna give it one more try.
So down this empty road two lonely soles and god only knows. where gonna make it to the end."
There's a lot to like here....the write, the performance, the arrangement and the mix. Everything is hittin' the note.
Nice!

Great track and great production. It really fits the Australiana tag. It brought the outback back home to me... Just a quick note on the lyrics, I think you meant "we're" not "where". Thank you Lambada, i really appreciate your thoughts. rob

Good song, love your vocal on this, and I like the lyrics too.
Great job on the production too, that breakdown at 1:15 and bringing it back at 1:40 worked like a charm and really makes the song something special IMHO, nice one! I fully agree with Dave. he summed it up perfectly. This is one of your very best - of the ones I've heard. that was a real joy to listen to. Thanks for the pleasure! Also, before I forget, the reso guitar with the deep reverb was a real nice touch! Wishing you well, Alan Hello Al. Thank you. Rob

Rob I also think that this is one if not your best today. Super mix, dynamics, lyrics and vocal.
I love these lines "And I know you shed a tear and we shared a beer I held you near. Where gonna give it one more try.
So down this empty road two lonely soles and god only knows. where gonna make it to the end."
Great lyrics here.
Two thumbs up. Hello Mario. really appreciate your comments. Rob

I haven't been to Narrabri for about 3 decades plus. Tasty arrangement IBB the slide is perfect - reminds me of Daniel's Last Night In The City. The only thing I can say on the suggestion level would be to pull the vocal back just a little - either by dropping the level a smidge or using reverb/delay carefully. At present the vocal rides on rather than sits in the mix. Regardless it's a lovely song and well constructed. Congratulations.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
