Trying out a new sound and some new vibes to get ready for 2018, and also trying to write some movie stuff.

Hope you like it.

All This Time

By David Snyder

V1

Counting years and shooting stars

And all the miles put on this car

We still run down to the sea

Crash into you crash into me

Stay in bed and watch it rain

Make love until the seasons change

Can we decode this mystery

I love you to infinity, I love you to infinity

Chorus

And all this time, I have never said that much, never said that much

But I’ve always had, always had the biggest crush, always had the biggest crush

V2

Catch an early morning flight

Get up before it's even light

See the world spread out below

A million places left to go

Climb up this mesa to the sun

Is there anything we’ve left undone

It seems ok the way we are

We don’t mind living on the run

Chorus

And all this time, I have never said that much, never said that much

But all this time, you have loved me way too much, loved me way too much

Bridge

And love’s not hard for you in me, in fact it's kind of just a breeze

Chorus

And all this time, I have never said that much, never said that much

But I've always had the biggest crush, had the biggest crush

And all this time, you have loved me way too much, loved me way too much

And all this time, we have never lost our touch, never lost our touch

Never lost our touch

All this time

All this time

Hi David.

Fantastic sound and arrangement!

Inspired choice of RTs.

Loved the step-change into the choruses.

Great vocals which I would have liked a shade louder in parts.

Excellent lyrics with a story-line which could have been any decade, but which took me back to the 70s.

Really cool.

Cheers, ROG.

David,
Such great lyrics - romantic and cinematic!
Very catchy chorus - love that percussion.
I`m thinking you mixed your vocal a bit further back intentionally, with the soundtrack idea in mind?
Very cool and enjoyable.

Robert

ROG,

Thanks man. You were spot on. I turned those verse vocals up and uploaded again. I wanted to submit this for film so that was a good call.

Really good call. Thanks for the careful listen. Good ears.

Thanks Robert!

That is what I was going for!

ROG was right, the vocal verse was a tad too low. I bumped them up and reloaded and this sounds about right.

Thanks again!!

Hi David,

I've tried to submit this twice and it just finished into some secret place in cyberspace - damn, that place must be full!

Anyway, here we go again. Some of what I was thinking has already been said. I agree with ROG about the selection of backing tracks and the transition from verse to chorus - pretty cool!

Agree with Robert about the romantic vibe of the lyric and the setting of the vocal a little further back in the mix for cinema. It seems most musical directors for film want the vocal at the lowest level it's clearly audible - at most. I also like that subtle but constant percussion going on behind the scenes - it really fills out the musical landscape.

I like this change from you - it's a good fit. really cool sound, David. Enjoyed it immensely. Best to you and yours,

Alan

This is really catchy song with modern arrangement and perfect mix - I'm amazed how well the drums and acoustic guitars create the moody tapestry, and how the drum/loops are introduced to the mighty chorus. Actually reminds me of the latest album by Michelle Branch, except that your song is way much better smile

Really good use of the guitar #1945, I wasn't aware of that one, thanks for bringing it to my attention smile

Great lyrics, "Can we decode this mystery I love you to infinity" - such a great line smile

Great vocals, the backing vocals really give the chorus an extra push.

Nice one, David! Great use of dynamics, the way you bring things up during the chorus, and I especially like the way you build intensity towards the end.

Nice vocals, background vocals are especially effective.

Yeah! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next year.

Killer verse!

Makes us wanna pack up and head west.

Love the guitar accents and the entire production. As far as film placement we think you nailed that target with the great imagery.

Kudos!

Great work here, David smile It has an ethereal, nostalgic quality to it I found. The choice of RealTracks here is superb, and the arrangement sounds thought out and inspired. Honestly, I don't think I'd change a thing here. I really liked your lyrics on this one too. All around, just a fantastically written song.

You should be proud of this one! Thanks for sharing this with us smile

Cool song!! Love that guitar riff thing. Is that you or the RT? This is an outstanding musical collage. You gave the reverb quite a workout on this but I think it was the right artistic call on this one. Love it David!! Take care. Greg

A very cool song, David. Excellent write. Very original.

I like everything about the production, arrangement and mix... except the GroovinFolk guitar. I think it is too busy and detracts from how truly wonderful this song is. I'd like to hear this with a VERY subtle, sparse acoustic. Just an opinion, of course....

(I've always wanted to use that guitar in something, but could never find the right place for it).

A REALLY liked it. (The song, I mean - your vocal is terrific).

David, you have woven together a beautiful piece of music here! Loved that acoustic guitar sound going on in there! Your vocal sounded very good and that chorus is catchy! I'll have that in my head for a while! Thanks, Torrey

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
