This is a rework of a song I did a couple of years ago. I wanted it to have a little more snap to it than the original. Kind of draws from a mix of styles, everything from 70's folk rock to Motown.
The lyric content is from the heart, it's the way I really feel! Hope someone likes it. Lyrics are in the video. Thanks, T

Torrey,
I haven`t heard the original but this has all the quality you always bring: sincere lyrics and super smooth vocals with the jazzy pop style you are an absolute pro at.
Lovely guitar work throughout is the icing.
Most enjoyable!

Hi Torrey,

Classic sound! Reminds me of very early 1970s MoTown before it faded away. Great vocal and arrangement. Sweet message in the lyric. As all your songs do, this has a very professional sound. I always enjoy your work!

Wishing you the very best.

Alan

I never heard the previous version from a few years ago, but I certainly enjoyed this! You definitely succeeded in giving this tune the "snap" you were looking for. I loved the drums in this one, they get your toe tapping and have a ton of energy behind them. Not to mention, your vocal delivery here is seriously on point! Over all, it's just a well written song and it sounds very professionally mixed as well.

Great work, and thanks for sharing smile

Hey Torrey,

I love your productions and singing man!

I am always reminded a little of ELO (and sometimes Todd Rundgren) but those are huge compliments.

You still sound pretty much like yourself though and that is the biggest compliment of all.

smile

Happy Holidays!!

Mr. Bliss...

I am no ladies' man, but your song, "You Didn't Give Up On Me", is the kind of dreamy, ultra-mellow, quietly uplifting song that, if I had heard it in a club on a Friday, or a Saturday night, would put me instantly in my best sweet-talking mode and have me surveying the place for a dance partner:

ME: Um, pardon me, miss, but, I just KNOW that you didn't get all prettied-up as you so obviously are, and drive all the way out here in the pouring rain (I live in Seattle!) just to sit down while the D.J. spins Torrey Bliss' new song, "You Didn't Give Up On Me".

SHE: You're right, I didn't. Are you asking me to dance with you?

ME: Miss, I've been moving with you (pointing at my forehead) here...and here (pointing at my heart) ever since I first saw you this evening. All I need you to do, now, is to take me by the hand (extending it), so I can get you up out of that chair, and allow me to make our way to that crowded dance floor so you, and me, can do this for real...

I'm sure you get the picture. The optimistic title, the slow-bop rhythm, the glowing chords from the electric piano, the bluesy sweetness of the rhythm guitars, the gospel-like testimony of the vocal chorus, the love-making solo guitar and your committed singing provide a soulfully transporting listening experience.

Mr. Bliss, the music you post to the "User's Forum" are maps of many moods.

Appreciatively,

LOREN

I absolutely love your voice, Torrey. That's what hit me the most while listening to this song.
As David said, there's a little bit of ELO in your production (the drums, for example ..) and more than a bit of Jeff Lynne in your voice. And these were some of my musical heroes when I was (much) younger.
Great song, fantastic voice.
Top notch.

Torrey,

Kenny said everything I was thinking. And I'm glad he caught the Something/Anything sound - I couldn't put me finger on it, but that is it! Very Rundgren-ish!!!

Super cool sound.

Really enjoyed that.

Great song Torrey!! I always love the feel of your music. Reminds me of some of the great music from the 70s/80s- very melodic with great vocals. Really cool, heartfelt lyrics on this one too. Always, always LOVE to hear your stuff!! Take care. Greg

Thanks so much David! I always seem to get a lot of ELO comparisons but the funny thing is that I was never really that big a fan. I guess Jeff Lynne had more influence on me than I thought! Always loved Rundgren though!

Great easy listening Christian rock style you have going on here. I know that sounds a bit like a cliché but I can hears so many different influences that it's hard to put a single label on it. Great sounding guitar solo near the end. The mix sounds great too.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
