hello
biab 2018 upgrade windows.
when i go into style picker i click on the premade demo option yellow box comes up saying auditioning the demo ,it plays the file but the yellow box remains and as soon as i click on anything the style picker hangs and eventually i get the message biab is not responding.
any advice please
rebuilt styles,songs and real tracks.
win 10...amd a10 radeon r6 4c+6g 1.8ghz
64 bit hp envy
biab 2023 with 1004 build. styles 1 to 429 plus extras 1,2,3,4 and 6.
running as admin,cleaned up returned to factory settings.

Paul, As a test, please try this... 1. Close BIAB. 2. Right-click on your startup shortcut and select "Run as administrator". 3. Now try using Stylepicker. Does this make any difference? Regards, Noel

i tried run as admin but still the same
in the style picker window
if i use the load song demo option and then click play with current chords,it plays ok and does not take too long to load.
if i use the other option "quick" play using premade demo,it auditions the song demo and plays it but it takes the length of the song to audition it which isnt quick(my 2015 version did this task more or less instantly) and if i click on anything whilst its auditioning, style picker hangs and eventually crashes
rebuilt styles,songs and real tracks.
win 10...amd a10 radeon r6 4c+6g 1.8ghz

What does the yellow text box in the lower RH corner show, e.g. any warning message? The pre-made demo is usually stored as an audio file on your system, or downloaded from the internet if not locally available. That text box might present a clue as to why so long. Also, can you describe the steps you took to get the hang situation to occur? Which items did you click on? That might assist to track down.

yes and sometimes longer

The yellow box just says auditioning style c:\bbrealtracks\datastyle demos audio

all my demos are installed in the bb folder

from bb main window i open style picker
from style picker i select a style and then choose the option
"quick-play using premade demo, the yellow message box appears saying its auditioning the style, the play bar does not move while it is auditioning,it plays the whole demo and sometimes longer.if i dont click anything and just leave it, it eventually finishes the audition after what seems like a couple of minutes and then plays normal with the play bar moving.
if i try to select another style or just mouse click anywhere on the style picker window whilst it is still auditioning the style picker window greys out and just hangs, i leave it for quite a while but eventually have to use task manager to shut down and restart biab

Under the Options drop down menu there is an option: Return to Factory Settings.
Could you please try that, then restart BiaB, by running as Administrator (right-click the desktop icon to select this).
Also, make sure you don't have any other audio type programs running when starting BiaB.
See if you get further.

once again thanks for your time.
i tried the "restore all to factory settings,closed biab and restarted but its still the same
in my bb folder i have two bbw exe files
bbw exe size 15.785kb "i use this file to open biab"
bbw3 exe size 15.462kb
when i run my mouse over the files i get this info
bbw exe "file description band box application..................
file version 2018.0.1.506
bbw3 exe file description band box application..................
file version 2018.0.o.501
i have just noticed that the mixer window in style picker has the
instrument names grayed out but rest of mixer ok

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
