The same gentleman that created jBridge, a utility program that allows 32 bit VSTs to work in 64 bit DAWs or 64 bit VSTs to work in 32 bit programs like Band-in-a-Box and RealBand, also has some interesting MIDI apps bundled together into compressed zip files. One zip file is for +++ 32 bit hosts +++ while the second zip file is for +++ 64 bit hosts +++One app assigns notes to channels for making brass section chords, another switches channel based on velocity. They are free and you might find something you can use.

Yep, I found those several years ago exploring J's site. And free is my favorite price.

Thanx Jim. I just DLed them and will look at them later.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Thanks. Reminds me of the old CAL scripts in SONAR.

Some other useful midi utilities as VST plugins: https://www.kvraudio.com/product/midi_tools_by_smart_electronixhttps://www.thepiz.org/plugins/?p=pizmidiThere's another set of tools that I used to use way back in the day, but have had DAW tools available that filled in the gaps, but they were all kinds of re-mapping tools for midi, not unlike the piz midi tools above. These are fun to play with - particularly some of them that convert audio levels to midi CC information.

BTW the link to J's site, rather than directly to the downloads is here: https://jstuff.wordpress.com/js-midi-tools/Also, don't look past PG's midi manipulators - some of the best out there. If I recall correctly, PowerTracks ProAudio had a sort of Midi 'compressor' for velocity information. It would leave the midi velocity untouched below a certain threshold, then ratio-multiply the velocity above the threshold. Those midi filters in PTPA were something I missed when I migrated away from PTPA about 10-15 years ago, and had to use some of these add-on tools to gain the features in the DAW I migrated to. Tobybear used to have a huge collection of midi tools, but it seems you can't preview them now without downloading a zip file. One that I've found useful for the rather unimpressive velocity mapping from my Casio XW-P1, is this velocity re-mapper: http://www.platinumears.com/velocitycurvesm.html

Thanx Rockstar_Not. This, https://www.thepiz.org/plugins/?p=pizmidi, will replace many of the cal scrips that I miss after changing from Sonar To Studio One.

I wonder if Sonar falling off will encourage "Frank" to think about scripting Frank's MIDI Plugins for at least one other DAW besides just Sonar and Cubase or re-work and generisize that plugin?

Mario, I was hoping to find a MIDI humanizer plugin, for subtle adjustments to MIDI parts to make them seem like people played the part. I haven't seen one yet in the lists given.

Tobybear had a humanisator plug-in which would soften stilted midi. I think that one is still live and active.

Thanks, Bob. I’ll look.
Larry, it was harder to find than I thought, but it’s easy yet comprehensive. Thanks again.

No, it’s just the menu name where they put it that fooled me.

Reapers built in Midi Humanizer works quite well for me. Once you're in the Piano Roll Editor it's accessible via VIEW in the top Tool Bar menu. It will do entire grid or only selected notes so you can go song section by song section and throw a new Random Seed at each section until you get something that minimizes further editing.
Does the noise in your head bother me ?

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
