Hi All,

Here's something a bit laid back and lofi - this is called Lucinda Songs.

I can hear you sing Ventura
With my mind in a restful place
No matter the news of the day
I could drift away in space
Got one hand on the rear view
And the moonlight in my eyes
The window’s half way down
It’s hours till sunrise

And you don’t owe me something sweet
At the point we lose the sound
Those Lucinda songs will cool my mind
Should our lives become unbound

I could contemplate the outcome
With some futuristic view
Ventura’ s on the radio
I will let those waves come through
Got your voice inside my head
And the words fall all around
The ache of night has passed
It’s hours till sundown

And you don’t owe me something sweet
At the point we lose the sound
Those Lucinda songs will cool my mind
Should our lives become unbound

All BIAB Tracks:
366: Bass, Electric, Country Ev 065
362: Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 085
362: Guitar, Acoustic, Fingerpicking Ev 085
2446: Guitar, Baritone Electric, Background Ev 065
RealDrums: NashvilleEven16 Sidestick HiHat

Thanks for listening! smile

Bob

Beautiful ballad! Love your vocal as always, and the track sounds great too.

Lot's of great lines, my favorite is:

"Got your voice inside my head
And the words fall all around
The ache of night has passed
It’s hours till sundown"

Enjoyed the listen!

Bob,
A really nice arrangement and the vocal performance is cool.
You should probably work out a template de esser setting for your vocal tone and reverb preference.
Is the trem guitar you?
Tasty stuff. I'd have loved a note to fade out on but hey, 'tis done.

Cheers

Bob,

This is a real delight.

Exceptional writing - start to finish.

Super band - you are really taking these songs to where they deserve to be - using the right tracks to support them perfectly. You used that baritone guitar to great effect. Excellent arrangement. Excellent mix. Wonderful vocal.

"Pour some soup, get a spoon and
Stir it up real good" - LW

You've done that yourself - superbly...

We are huge Lucinda Williams fans (everything she's ever cut) so just the title of this stood out on the screen. Love the references.

As fj said:

"Pour some soup, get a spoon and
Stir it up real good" - LW"

And we agree you certainly did it most superbly with this song.

Another great band, arrangement, vocal, write and mix AND LW!

We look forward to many listens on our fav playlist.

J&B

PS We've often thought your arrangements and "bands" were Lucinda like. Of all of her work Down Where The Spirit Meets The Bone might be our fav...It's so cool for you to reference her!

Like Bud, I was struck by the title as I too am a Lucinda fan. The baritone works well and the rest of the band sounds great. Your usual interesting and captivating write. I always get pulled along for the ride. I enjoyed it. Really well done, Tom

This is fantastic! It displays a strong understanding of songwriting, and there are some very noteworthy lyrics here. The whole tune has a really melancholic quality to it, which personally I find endearing. Your vocal performance only helps solidify that.

You should be proud of this one - thanks so much for sharing smile

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
