Hi All,

Here's something new - this is called Light Years.

All the graves are in the backyard
And people move on there’s no doubt
Now I see the changing of the guard
Separate pathways a different route

No need to wave flags in the air
The stars won’t see them anyway
I sometimes just look up and stare
Still the same sky different day

And it's full speed into the light years
Shift through all the tired dreams
There’s a new moon on the mountain
If I can fly this old machine

Take a bus to New York City
And see your face in every mile
This old Trailways is a pity
It can run but it can’t fly

And it's full speed into the light years
Shift through all the tired dreams
There’s a new moon on the mountain
If I can fly this old machine

All BIAB Tracks:
1036: Bass, Electric, NorthernRockBallad Ev 065
1596: Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Pop16ths Ev 065
1600: Guitar, Acoustic, High-Strung Rhythm Pop16ths Ev 065
1599: Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Pop16ths Ev 065
Loop: Chillout/Chillout - dimensions_145_choir
RealDrums: RockNorthern a:Snare, HiHat Closed, b:Snare

As always - thanks for listening! smile

A cool write, as always, Bob...

"Take a bus to New York City
And see your face in every mile"

Love how that says so much in such a simple statement.

Another excellent arrangement. And a solid mix.

Terrific listen.

I really, really enjoyed this song. I especially loved the lyrics. Particularly "Shift through all the tired dreams. There’s a new moon on the mountain. If I can fly this old machine". Great job!

Bravo, Robert smile Really easy on the ears, and a nice gentle listen for me. I really like the slow build throughout. Some really nice lyrics here to, and I'm fond of the chord progressions.

You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing!

Well written and well delivered. And as always the band is hittin' the note.

Deryk mentioned both the build and the chord progression...yep, very effective.

floyd mention in part:

"Take a bus to New York City
And see your face in every mile
This old Trailways is a pity
It can run but it can’t fly"

As he said so much is said in those lines. The old bus, the destination, run vs fly, the face, etc. Rich and textured imagery in four lines.

Outstanding.

Another great 'stumble upon' song from you. It has one of my favorite go to progressions. I don't think you could write a song I don't like. I really enjoyed this.

By stumble upon I mean; The only reason you aren't having lunch with Ed Sheeran at the Grammy's is because the right music executive hasn't stumbled upon your work yet......... In your case, that would only ever have to happen once...

Hey Bob,
What a good write. I very much enjoyed it. I thought the brief built to a full band was cool. All the RT's sound very good (great drums) and a very nice mix!
It's cool to hear the difference in the way everything sounds now (such massive improvements) compared to how all of our posts sounded back when we all first started using BIAB. Good Job!

Well written and the BIAB arrangement you've pulled together is very cool - I particularly like the bass part.
Evocative words that painted pictures - no need for a video with this - it would attempt to tie this down.

Hello, Bob

Super vocal!
Excellent construction of music!
It is very fresh that C#m comes out after many repeated same chord progression ( E - A - B7).
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Thanks very much. I appreciate that.

The BG tracks were my harmonies coupled with a BIAB loop - Chillout/Chillout - dimensions_145_choir.

Thanks again.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
