I hear lots of really good songs on this forum, and every so often I hear something great. This is one of those times! As far as the subject matter goes, the future seemed so positive after that first moon landing, but then everything basically stopped! I often wonder what the world would be like today if they had kept on going with that line of research instead of finding new and better ways to blow the crap out of each other. This is really special, Bob! Excellent production, just the right treatment on that vocal. Stop was brilliant! I also like your lead playing, very melodic with great tone. No worries on commenting on my tune, I am aware of your condition that makes it difficult to type. Just keep on posting more of these songs please

Very good!I really enjoyed the chord progression on this - yes, Floyd -like as has been noted. You also nailed the vocal with that sense of foreboding coming through. Inspired ending too.

The word is overused...but, what the heck, this production is mesmerizing.
It's a wonderful confluence of lyric/vocal with the perfect backing tracks.

Excellent stuff, Bob.
A million miles away from your usual style and yet still so engaging and accomplished.
I heard Bowie before Pink Floyd, but yes, both in there.
Nice to hear you playing lead up-front - you should do that more often!
Going back for a second listen.

Surprisingly good. Don't get me wrong, your songs are always good, but this takes everything to a whole new level. There's great dynamics in this song, some dark atmosphere and really beautiful vocals!

Wow - simply put, this is beautiful. It reminds me of the intros to certain Pink Floyd songs, which for me is a major compliment. It sounds so lush and ethereal - paired with the bewildering lyrics, this is a tune to behold.
You outdid yourself on this one - thanks for sharing!
Cheers, Deryk

fj There are no two ways about it. You are very talented! Like floyd, what impresses every time is how you use so few words to create such a wonderful lyric journey. I find that such a hard thing to do and yet you make is look so very easy. To my ears, everything about this shines. All the best, Noel

Very nice.
I listened to both versions and like the overall sound quality of the second one. It has a smoother sound to it and the bass isn't overloaded.
Yep..... gotta agree with the rest. A good mix and good write with lots of evident influence from Pink Floyd and to a lesser degree Bowie. The solo was tasty.

90 dB of Pink Floyd. This song is soooooo cool! That's not an easy sound to create or pull off. You make it seem effortless. If this was on the radio, I would turn it for sure! Great job!

fj YES!!! I too was blown away by this. Very Pink!! I think I used the same drum RT on my Floyd tribute song, but I can't play guitar like you. I also loved the vocal processing. What was your signal path on that? GREAT STUFF Bob!! Take care. Greg

This is GORGEOUS!, Bob...
Your are SUCH a fine songwriter - you say more with a few words than any I've ever known. A real talent. Blows me away every time.
The production on this is every bit a match for the superb writing. The vocal on this is every bit a match for the superb writing. (Love the processing).
LOVE that stop!
Top shelf stuff, through and through.
Looking forward to the next one!
fj YES!!! I too was blown away by this. Very Pink!! I think I used the same drum RT on my Floyd tribute song, but I can't play guitar like you. I also loved the vocal processing. What was your signal path on that? GREAT STUFF Bob!! Take care. Greg Greg, Thanks for the kind comments. If I remember correctly, the signal path on the vocal was just compression, reverb and delay. Regards, Bob

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
