Having moved totally moved to a Apple intel iMac at the start of the year. I was wondering how long until the Mac version of BIAB catches up with the PC version. I am now also using Logic pro which i love, and when the 2010 mac arrives will it give us the option of opening a small floating window in my main sequencer as in the latest PC version. Thanks John Franklin

Yes
I'm just drooling over the sound demos of the new realtracks for Windows 2010 - and wondering when we'll be able to get our grubby little hands on them!
I'm looking forward to that, whenever it is!
Keep going Peter and the team.

Yes, we're making everything for Mac too. We don't pre-announce release times. It won't be before XMas though.

So you would suggest to wait for updating or buying the program?

Not exactly a request for release time information. but will there be any more updates to 2009, or is all the development now concentrating on 2010 ?

Can we get the Ear Training program in the Mac version? Please please? And the practice window thing the PC version has?

Are you now, or will you be looking for more beta testers for 2010 in the near future ? No, I'm not trying to ask for a timeline, (really I'm not ) but I will offer my services if more testers are needed to help speed up the beta process. - Jay

I would dearly love to be a beta tester. As soon as the 2010 for Mac version is released I plan on getting the audiophile version as long as it has the ear training facility like the Widows version does. Beta testing would help ease the pain of waiting plus help with getting the learning curve out of the way.
If there's a list to sign up for beta testing, please put me on it. I can't wait to give you my money to purchase 2010 for Mac!
Until then I am pouting and drooling ... my wife says it's not pretty.
(PS ... I have over 15 years experience in application development and would be a competent tester ...)

Hello everyone, so I think a german translation will not arrive...
Is a translation planned in a 2010 version on release-time, or sometimes "later" after that release?
Is there a timeframe for the 2010 release? I think BiaB-2009 was released in May...
Thanks for any hint.

If we buy a more or less outdated 2009 Version...,
do we have to pay for the Mac 2010 Update?
I imagine, that the release is not so far away? Thank you much!

I wanted the Mac version but the dealbreaker for me was the fact that you could not resize the staff view and make the notes bigger. I hope that is in the 2010 version.

I think the way you (PG) states developement steps is not a big favor for your customors.
First, kowbody knows if there is really a 2010 Mac version on the way. Maybe we have to wait until 2011, or 2012 ?
If we buy a 2009 and next month apperars a 2010, we need to spend additional 69 or 149 $. Maybe good to give customers a update discount inside a timeframe. (as like Apple does often)
I think, It would be a good thing to tell costomers a bit more of timeframes and features. To know, that there is a real developement.
thanks whxde

Don't hold your breath for this. If history is a guide (which it always should be)
We will see a new version in 5 years.

I think I read somewhere (in another Forum on this site?) that PGM is trying to get the Mac 2010 version released in Q1 of 2010, so if we Mac people are all really lucky and blessed by the PGM gods we should either be able to buy it or at least get some sort of progress update with a revised ETA by the end of March, 2010.
In the interest of helping this effort move forward I once again volunteer as a beta-tester.
Perhaps Peter Gannon can confirm the hoped-for Q1 release date in this thread?
Being Canadian, I qualify as an Eager Beaver. Good things are worth waiting for ...

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
