Hi All,

Here's a silly little song that you might hear coming out of a garage in 1966… LOL!

This is called HiFi-LoFi.

Forty-five RPM is the only speed
Never too much of what I need
I can get used to anything
You fade away as you sing

HiFi LowFi baby you are spinning me out
HiFi LowFi baby you are spinning me out
HiFi LowFi baby you are spinning me out

Sleeves rolled up and ready for a fight
Listen to the words so outta outta sight
Stuck in a spiral so turn up the sound
Play it one more time round and round

HiFi LowFi baby you are spinning me out
HiFi LowFi baby you are spinning me out
HiFi LowFi baby you are spinning me out

All BIAB Tracks:
1569: Bass, Electric, Soul60s Ev 110
629: Guitar, Electric, Rhythm PopAmerican Ev 120
405: Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Ev 120
2499: Guitar, Baritone Electric, Rhythm, Brent Ev 120
Loop: Percussion Tambourine Quarters 4 bars
RealDrums: NashvilleEven8, HiHat Open

Thanks for listening! smile

Great sound - infectious in fact. Enjoyed the 60's feel and a bit of Dylan in the delivery.
Good stuff.

Very cool tune. Loved you brought up the sound of the garage bands. I remember when we started up when we were kids there would be kids from all over the neighborhood coming to listen. Parents scowling of course. Loved this tune. Infectious is right on the money.

Hi Bob,

Love that 60s garage band sound! And yeah, we had Hi-Fi back then - before stereo. perfect backing tracks. Nice!

Man this is really cool.

How did you get that REM style guitar lick at the intro and throughout? Is that you playing, or is that a Real Track?

It sounds great!

David,

Thanks. I generated several tracks from 629: Guitar, Electric, Rhythm PopAmerican Ev 120. I then pulled out this particular lick and overlaid it on the rhythm track throughout the song.

Bob,
Really nice retro sound. Your vocal carries the energy and that`s some wizardry applied to the baritone guitar!
Very cool song.

Well done, Bob. A cool sound.

But... I think it's more Seattle Grunge (mid-80's?) that '66 garage band...

Nice mix. Good job "finding the lick"...

It actually sounds more like a 70’s Ian Hunter and Mott The Hoople style song than a 60’s rocker, to my ears, and I loved it. Great groove.

Right on - this tune is a thumper! I can't help but imagine how great this would sound live. The use of those guitars was perfect. Not to mention, that chorus is the perfect level of catchy for my taste.

Really well done - thanks for sharing smile

Great work comping up that rhythm lick.

I think the comparisons to other styles are somewhat all over the map which indicates to us that you've come up with something unique. It's a compliment in our book to cause reactions like that.

And it's a lot more than a silly little song. The lyric and vocal performance are both most cool. For example "45rpm is the only speed"...neat way to identify an era and present a great line.

We'll call it a "nifty little song" deserving of multiple listens!

Nice.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
