Parisian Night

I always associate this Jazz Waltz/Organ sound with Paris..
----------------------------------------------------------------
From the plane
The city train
Returns the trav'lers to the town of lights;
Set to re-live a honeymoon
In the PARISIAN NIGHT.

Exit train at
Montparnasse and at once
The mem'ries come alive again;
All the sights of Paris nights
And walks by the river Seine.

Stroll the gardens, Sainte-Chapelle,
Saint Germain to Montmarte;
Once this city launched our love when
Paris was thrilling our young hearts.

  Champs Elysee to Notre Dame
Stopping by the Louvre;
Climb by train to Sacre Couer and
Gaze at this marvelous city.

Grab me, darling
And kiss me here;
To come to Paris was completely right;
The past's awaken'd and our love's alive;
On this PARISIAN NIGHT.

Good Afternoon,

love a good jazz Waltz - and this is a good one! And I agree with your association. I lived in Europe almost 12 years and got to Paris 3 or 4 times - this sound was common in the jazz clubs at that time - a few years back. You captured the sound perfectly. Nice!

Alan

Hello, Tom

Very sophisticated jazz Waltz!
Excellent melody and chord progression as usual.
I have had a great passion for French Chansons once.
WhenI listened to this song, I remembered songs by Boris Vian, Mouloudji, Léo Ferré and etc.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

What a lovely little song! grin That European feel really does come across, without the help of the lyrics! I think that's pretty great.

Superb!

We love the organ and the vocal. Sounds like a tight little club band in a small European venue.
Post Hot Club but early.

Very nice!

Nice waltz, I enjoyed it.

The vocal seemed a bit hot, and touch distorted in a couple places.

Turns out I've been pronouncing Louvre the 'merican way, so you made me learn something new, darn it! wink

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
